I work in commercial real estate, and this camera is just the best--great wide angle and 12x zoom very helpful to capture property detail///also great on recent Grand Canyon trip. I did quite a bit of research before buying this camera.

I wanted a point and shoot that would allow me the option to set the limits or just let the camera take the pic. My Panasonic ZS1 does just that. My favorite thing is that I can select "my pic" option and it brings up a range of "scene" categories on the screen, allowing me to toggle through and select the best mode. Most cameras have the scene select wheel on top, and I could see how this would eventually break with lots of use and scene changes. Not to worry with the ZS1.

I take this camera on the road when traveling. Wanted a very easy, uncomplicated camera, which I thought this would be. While most of the pictures have good color and quality, many outside pictures with good natural lighting have faces underexposed. Backlight needs to be manually set to ensure acceptable pictures. What we really like about the camera is the wide angle which is standard. That really is remarkable. I would recommend this camera, but not without reservations.

The camera seems very solid and takes good macro shots which is why I got it. The button to switch between taking photos and viewing them is in a place that is easily bumped and so you can switch between photo and play mode at inconvenient times.[...]

This is a great little camera that takes pictures like a big camera~ It's also light & easy to use. If only it could use regular AA batteries it would be perfect.

For a compact camera it does everything you need a camera to do. Has a nice zoom(12X), while not spectacular, it is great for a camera its size. Takes really nice photos, the second flash for getting the red eye out can be annoying, but it does a good job. Only uses the name brand Panasonic battery, after market will not work.

great camera. it's small enough to carry, takes great pictures, has an awesome zoom, and is cheap enough to have as a casual-use camera. just wish it came in red like the HD version.

This camera is decent. Compared to my last one, it's great. The zoom is great for the price. The quality is also good for the price. My only complaint is that when you're taking a video, if you zoom in or out, the sound shuts off. I had the same problem with my last camera so I didn't mind so much when it happened with this one. Other than that, it's a pretty good camera for the price. I used it at a party in a house and got decent pictures. I also used it at Medieval Times and it did okay. Some pictures had a nice effect and actually came out clear, but a lot were blurry since it's very low light with a lot of motion. Don't get this if you want manual control. Everything is simple and auto. The pinhole and stretching the scene effects are unique, although almost any photoshop program can get you the same results. I haven't yet used the software that came with it. I wish there was a pause button in the video mode. It has a decent macro. I also took some very close-up pictures of a flower and you could see tiny hairs that weren't easily seen by the naked eye.
