I am an environmental scientist and I need a tough camera that can handle rain, snow, and mud. This camera is great. I hate digital cameras that have a big goofy zoom lens that has to open every time you turn on the camera; this camera has no moving parts which makes it more durable and saves battery life.

Bought this, expecting it to be of limited use. I was wrong. In addition to making great photos, it's easy to use, and smarter than most people, being able to tell when your subject is smiling or blinking, does great panorama shots, and the underwater video is unbelievable. GET IT!

I gave this camera to my 22 year old daughter who is always on the go. I read reviews about unclear pics, but we did not find that to be the case. She loves the camera and loves that she can take pics underwater at the pool, one of her favorite places. I would recommend this camera for everyday fun. We are pleased with the picture quality and the ease of use.

Got this for my son to use at the beach and backpacking and fouyr wheeling. It works great for him and is easy to use as he is active his activities. He really likes its small compact size and ease of use.

Much smaller than the pictures indicate and fits fine in a shirt pocket. Used in the rain without any problems. Nice clear pictures when used at low ISOs. Great camera to take with you on the go.

Got this camera, thinking it is from Pentax, but it not at all stands by its Company's reputation. The image quality is grainy, and looks as if taken from a vga camera (those camera which came with old cam-phones) very, very bad quality. Not at all like even 1.3MP. Initially I thought i have some incorrect setting, so just to be sure, I called their tech support, and every setting was perfect. The camera had a poor quality by nature. [...] Would never recommend this to anyone. STAY AWAY!

I use it every day and it is a nice compact size to carry. I have found that the automatic setting works for most pictures and is easy to change to another setting when the time warrants it. I would recommend this camera.

I owned a Pentax Optio W10 before, this is my 2nd Optio. This is much better than the W10. Outdoor in good lighting condition picture sharpness and color is generally good, camera response is not the greatest but IMO it is decent enough with its waterproof benefit. However, indoor picture is poor. When camera set with Auto ISO, when taking indoor picture even in daytime, camera easily set itself to ISO 400 or above, but at ISO 400, picture is already very grainy, at ISO 800 or above noise is very bad. I set the camera to ISO 200 indoor the picture is too dark even with flash on. I have read many good review with the W60, but so so review with the W80. I was hoping this WS80 is more towards the W60 because of the 10MP sensor. I do not have a W60 to direct compare. In conclusion, I think it is still a good waterproof camera as most of the time you need a waterproof camera is outdoor in daytime. I will travel with another camera for indoor or nighttime use for sure.
