Comments about Pentax OPTIO WS80 Waterproof Digital Camera - Purple & White:

I have only owned this camera for 1 month as of now Jan 27. I bought it for my girlfriend but we both use it regularly when going out, skiing, and other activities we do that I don't feel like lugging my DSLR around and fooling with the lenses. As far as use, one thing I like about the camera is it's all internal making the camera compact at all times. You can hit the power button and put it back in your pocket without having to wait for the lens to retract. It also means you don't have to worry about getting dust/debris/condensation, or anything else on the lens. You simply keep the glass protective cover clean. The zoom is nice too. Image quality is basically the same as any other 10mp point and shoot camera out there. They all have similar setups as far as sensors and lenses go. Your not sacrificing any quality by having an internal lens compared to one that extends and retracts. The LCD screen on the back of this camera is higher resolution than some. For example, a lot of point and shoots have like 130k dot while this one has about 230k. The difference is noticeable when compared. My opinion? This is a good camera. When at the beach, pool, outside in general, or dirty/dusty conditions, this camera is nice to have around as it its resistant to the elements.
