I bought this to replace a five year old Sony Cybershot and cannot believe the improvements that have been made. The shutter speed is fast, the image quality is outstanding. My main concern was the 5x optical zoom. This camera was the best value, by far, that had a 5x zoom and a 10 megapixel resolution. I recommend to all casual photographers.

I was extremely happy with my Sony Cyber Shot for the first few months of use. The view finder is unique and the zoom outstanding. I took almost 800 pictures. However, after owning it for less than 6 months, I was forced to send it in for repair. The lense locked up and I was unable to take any pictures. I am quite disappointed to say the least, especially since the price has dropped quite a bit since I purchased it in August.

Strongly recommend. Excellent Photo quality and battery life seems to be very good. Not so good for taking videos and has no zoom facility in video mode.
