I shopped a lot before buying this camera. I wanted to upgrade from my little Nikon Coolpix, and something with a zoom. But I also wanted an affordable camera I could carry in my pocket. The $150-$200 small pocket cameras were actually too small for me to manage with my hands! (I'm over 55.) The higher end (25X) Nikon Coolpix and Canons offered good distance shooting, but were too big. Canon G-11 is way more camera than I need since I shoot mainly for my website. This one was just right. Tradeoffs: it's 10X instead of 25, but so far, not a big deal. And it fits in my pocket nicely.

We have only had this camera for about a month but it was easy to get shooting and the quality is super. We are on vacation now, in Hawaii and it takes fabulous shots. I almost never need to use the flash, even inside. I'm learning a little more each day, and am starting to use the different types of scene shots that are available. YOu can keep it very easy/simple or you can try different things. I'm loving this camera! It has a good feel, and it only took me one day to get used to having a lens cover. And now I really like that for protection. I can't think of anything that I don't like about this. The battery life seems to be good..I put in one charged battery and then switched about 3 days later...even though the battery wasn't totally gone. When we travel I try to charge one up while we sleep...but am impressed at how long the battery is lasting.

Overall I am satisfied. It has a good zoom function, and I like it about this camera. It doesn't have a viewfinder, so sometimes it is difficult to see only with the LCD under the sun. But it is cheap for all the qualities.

Great camera for the money.I use it mainly to photograph the wildlife from my back deck.The recommended accessories(adapter,zoom and wide lenses)are a nice way to upgrade a quality camera.

The HD video is a great addition to my other powershot camera It could record TV movie at a surprisingly better image than shown on the TV. The video can only be seen with the Sony software. Without it my computer could not, because the video is in the MPEG 4 format. It is, however, compatible with movie makers such as Pinnacle. So I found it relatively easy to load it to my movie software.

I also like the smiling feature and the zoom for such a tiny camera.

Had used point and shoot for a long time and wanted to try a better one, but not a SLR. Sony DSC H20 is the best in its class with all features and with the price that no body else could compete with.

I needed a simple point-and-shoot with telephoto to carry around on vacation. I'm not into complicated photography. This is perfect. Easy to carry around and takes great shots. I replaced my old Kodak. I'd recommend this to anyone.

I was choosing a replacement camera between this one and a canon sx110is . Having used the canon at work i was comfortable with it, but since it was going to be primarily for my wife, we purchased the Sony. Bottomline I'm estatic we purchased the sony, it is just awesome.

This is a good camera in reasonable pricing. Lot of functionality packed in a small package. Excellent results in low lighting. Great 10X zoom and a very effective macro functionality. Provides a lot of semi-automatic and manual control. Excellent choice for people who know a bit about photography. However, its not the best choice for point-and-shoot enthusiast. Checkout Sony ultra compact versions if you are one.

The menu system is a bit complex. Battery life is good. I have noticed that keeping the charger plugged-in for additional 3-4 hours after the charge light turns off improves the battery capacity.

There are two things I was disappointed about. First, it does not have good wide angle and second, sometimes it behaves a bit sluggish.

Apart from this, H-20 is a great buy and perhaps the best choice for people who want something between a SLR and an ultra-compact.

This camera is so easy to use, its absolutely wonderful! It has many settings that are easy to learn and it determines which setting is best when taking the picture. It also has a smile function which automatically takes pictures when the person smiles. You never miss a great shot! The pictures are perfect! Its especially great in low light settings. Definitely the best camera I've ever owned!
