This camera is very easy to use. It takes beautiful quality pictures with the capacity to shoot HD video. Haven't used the video yet but will soon. Takes awesome action shots with a fast shutter speed. Live view mode is not to be used for any type of action shot which really is a bummer because you have to focus with a button on the top right of the camera. Kind of a pain. Guess it is just good for face detection mode and taking portraits of very still objects. The only other complaint is that when looking through the eyepiece your nose is jammed up against the LCD screen (and I have a small nose by the way). Nothing like nose prints all over you screen. Overall the camera is well worth your investment for beginners and pros alike. [...]

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T1i Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens & EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens Kit:

I purchased this camera b/c I was getting frustrated with the limited capability of my P&S. I owned a Canon P&S and read a ton of reviews on the T1i, so Canon seemed like the logical choice. I really recommend buying a photography book to go with your camera purchase. If you are a seasoned photographer, then you won't need it, but if you are new to photography like me, it will be a great benefit. I purchased "From Snapshots to Great Shots" by Jeff Revell. I am EXTREMELY happy with the book. It did a great job of explaining all the amazing features of the T1i.

I think the T1i is a great introductory camera with some amazing features. I've have been very happy with my purchase.

I purchased this camera a couple weeks back and have enjoyed using the camera every since. This is my first DSLR (coming from a point and shoot camera)...and I must say that all the hype is true, it REALLY IS worth all the extra money for a good DSLR. Taking pictures is just an entirely different experience. And the 1080p video mode is insane! Even the audio is exceptional! WELL worth the cash :)

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T1i Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens & EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens Kit:

This Canon T1i is a very good camera if you are going from a digital point and shoot to a digital SLR. The lens kit that comes with the camera is a good kit to get you started, but if you like taking photos of people at family parties in rooms with low light then you will want the wide angle lens kit and a bounce flash. The camera battery lasts a very long time and I take a lot of indoor flash photos. Only drawback is that if you use the preset Canon point and shoot settings the sensor can take a little longer to correctly focus the camera and then you could lose the shot. I recommend that you learn how to use the F stop settings in manual mode to get the most from your photos on continuous shooting mode where the shutter speed is great! You can also use the Sports preset mode and that helps a great deal with fast moving kids during family gathering like Christmas and birthday parties. The images from the camera a simply breathtaking! People see my photos and say, "what did you shoot that photo with I can see every detail". The image stabilization in the lens is very helpful and I try to use a tripod when I am going to be setup in a particular room where the action is during the event. I have a family member that has won awards at local art shows for her pictures and she says, "That Canon takes even better photos than my Nikon". She is a much better photographer than I am, so she could definitely get more from the Canon T1x than I do. In the video mode it works well, but the focus can lag. It takes better video in low light than my JVC Digital video camera. The video is very clear but the audio can be weak without an external mic. If you buy this camera for someone that is good with a point an shoot and wants to start getting into the digital Single Lens Reflex (SLR) you will be pleased overall. Enjoy!

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T1i Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens & EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens Kit:

This is my first DSLR. I have a 35mm SLR and a digital point and shoot camera. I decided to get a DSLR and after doing a lot of comparison decide to get Canon T1i. The reasons being 15+MP and 1080HD video recording.
So far I have been very impressed by performance and quality of camera. It feels lighter than I expected and image quality is excellent. I have been most impressed by fast shutter speed considering I take a lot of pictures of my pet and they are always in motion. I greatly recommend this camera.
I am still learning all the controls on the camera, so I do not have any cons that I can point to at the moment.

Comments about Canon EOS Rebel T1i Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens & EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens Kit:

We've just begun using this, our first DLSR (decided to abandon our defective Sony Cyber-shot point-and-shoot). The Canon EOS Rebel T1i is performing beautifully so far. Easy to get up and running instantly, the subtle controls will take longer to figure out, but that's to be expected. Nice weight, satisfactory feel. Only bummer is, I have to look through the viewfinder to get the shot, I can't use the LCD display to frame shots. Unless I want to go to Menu setting, normal use means I have to quickly take my face away from the camera after clicking, to see the shot for a moment, and in the meantime, the LCD is often fogged up from my skin. So that's clunky. Otherwise, I dig the camera.
