It is easy to use and it is simple to use, it nearly teach you how you use it. It is like someone who knows me has made it, just for me!
Things that are great: The lcd tells you and give you a suggestion how to use the camera, how to control the camera. I mean, the lcd is wonderful and good teacher. (This is my first SLR camera).
Things that aren´t so great about it: I have not found any yet.

This camera is a great value for the price because it makes the jump to DSLR less expensive while providing a good array of features. It is extremely easy to use but gives photographs far better than expected.I would have had to wait a bit longer to afford true DSLR performance if not for this camera.

Comments about Sony DSLRA230L Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens:

This is my first DSLR and I'm in love. It is so easy to use! Every time I pick it up I am impressed. I've taken some amazing sunset photos. The battery lasts a very long time. It is a bit loud but I can handle that! This camera gives me everything I wanted in a digital camera but never got with my point and shoots. I'd recommend it to anyone just starting out with DSLRs because it's so easy to learn to use!

Comments about Sony DSLRA230L Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens:

I bought this camera because I could use my old Minolta film SLR lenses, so it was an inexpensive way to get a DSLR. Unfortunately, the Sony camera build quality and photo quality were both disappointing. I found the body to feel very cheap and plasticky. The shutter was very noisy. These things may not bother you, but I suggest trying the camera in a store before ordering.
I use the camera primary for wildlife and landscape photography. When I tried to take pictures of elk at dusk, admittedly a challenge for any camera, this camera had a lot of trouble focusing and about 1/3 of the shots were black -- completely black. With bright sunlight I got pictures, but I was disappointed with the quality in two ways. The colors were not natural and the details were not as sharp as I get with my Olympus 8 megapixel point and shoot. I have read reviews on this camera that say that you can get more natural colors if you take pictures in raw and adjust them. That may be, but I do not want to have to do that for every picture that I take. I have returned this camera and purchased the Pentax K20D. I'm very happy with the build and photo quality from the Pentax.

Comments about Sony DSLRA230L Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens:

After about a week with this camera, I really like it. I am a photographer and I needed a D-SLR, I wanted to start small, but not too small, and cheap. I did do a LOT of research before buying this. I would not recommend it if you need to take lots of fast consecutive shots, 2.5fps (frames per second) is not the fastest. Flash recovery time is a bit slow too. If you have large hands this camera might be strange too, the buttons have very little travel and are shallow and the grip is small. The menus and UI (user interface) are very very nice however. Easy to use and navigate. I really like this camera, it is basic, but has advanced features too. Color is pretty good, but for the best results you should play with the settings. Another plus is you can use Minolta lenses too. I would suggest going and buying a telephoto or zoom lens however, because the kit 18-55mm lens is not the best. Another thing is the shutter is kinda loud, not a huge down, but something to take note of. Also has a proprietary hot shoe (where you can attach an external flash) but you can buy an adapter online for about $5. The battery life is also pretty good. I really like it, and would recommend.

I was able to use lens and flash from my minolta SLRs. It's good to be using a SLR again rather than a point and shoot. A very good value for the price.
