Comments about Sony DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Body:

This is a great Camera for the price and a wonderful upgrade from my A100. I love the extra mega pixels and the ISO from 100-3200. photos are crisp. This camera is a poor mans solution but with state of the art display and mega pixels that keep up with the big dogs.I kind of miss the double dial from my A 100 in this model but the buttons in the A350 once you get used to them serve just as good.

Comments about Sony DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Body:

This is a great camera @ 14.2MP for that walk in the woods. Not heavy, so it won't weigh you down on a shoot. I used this camera at a 3 day event without a hitch. Took over 1,000 pictures a day at this event, and only used one battery a day. If I had to say anything bad about this camera, it is a little noisy, and it is auto-focusing all the time. These are not real bad issues. I take a lot of outdoor pictures, and wanted a little more camera than my Sony a100. I took some macro photo's with my a100, and had to lay on the ground to get the angle I wanted, but with the tilt screen, and live viewing I can take the same shot without getting dirty. Abe's had a great price, and great follow up on the order. They make sure your happy with your order, and choice of stores. Thanks Abe's of Maine.

Comments about Sony DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Body:

The shutter on the camera makes a significant clunk inside the body, which worried me about slight shake on long exposure shots. Thankfully I have not seen any blurring due to this (but it is still loud). The Live View tilt screen is great, especially for those macro shots at near ground, or over the crowd shots. I'm using it with a Sigma 18-200 f/3.5-6.3 DC lens. The combination is wonderful, with excellent picture quality (though with some vignetting). All in all, I am happy with the camera's sunset ability and landscape depth (see photos).

Comments about Sony DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Body:

First. I had tried to order the a350 from another company, but it was a "bait and switch" (they refused to sell it). Abe's had the second best price and was no hassle. [...] Although I have used digital cameras since 2000, this is my first SLR. Since the a350 has 14 mega pixel, I thought that it would show more detailed pictures than my 5 mp Olympus or 6 mp Panasonic. It does, but the difference is minor. It is also bigger and heavier than I thought. However, the pictures are much, much better in every other way. More accurate, colorful, fewer blown out highlights, etc. The a350 is extremely fast in focusing, never misses a shot, and I find that even the ISO 3200 is quite good in poor light. Some people get a SLR so that they can shoot "raw", but the jpeg pictures are so good right out of the camera, I haven't felt the need so far. I had chosen Sony since I had 2 Minolta lenses from my old 35mm film Minolta (and because it has a fold-out LCD with live view which is very useful). Both lenses work well, but one (Minolta 100-300mm) gives a rather soft image I never noticed when shooting film. My other, a Sigma 24mm f2.8, is great. I did not get the kit lens because I had heard it (like all kit lenses) was not very good.

Comments about Sony DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Body:

I needed a camera to carry on motorcycle trips. I had to have one small enough to carry in a waist pack. I tried three top P&S cameras - Leica, Canon G10 and Nikon 6000. None of these even came close to my standards - which are formed by an A700 and an A900. I finally gave the A350 a test run and it proved ideal for my purposes. The A350 is light, easy to carry, sturdy and produces stellar files - just like my other Sony gear. I highly recommend this unit, either for backup or or as an only camera.

Comments about Sony DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Body:

Very easy to use. This is my first DSLR, and I was hesitant to switch from 35MM. The controls are very easy to learn and the menus are very intuitive. Without moving up to a pro-quality digital SLR, this is about as good as it gets for the casual photographer. Plus, all of my Minolta accessories work on the Sony Alpha!

I moved from the alpha 100 to the 350 because I already have so many Minolta maxxum af lenses. I am able to get some incredible shots. If I did not already have so much invested in Maxxum lenses I would have gone with the Nikon 90 as the best non professional camera.

Comments about Sony DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Body:

This is my fourth digital camera and second SLR camera, but my first Digital SLR. After researching entry level DSLR cameras, I narrowed the decision between the Canon 350A and the Canon XSi. My gut was telling me to buy the Canon bundle package with two lenses, but my wallet couldn't, since I already owned two Minolta/Konica lenses from my 35mm SLR camera. I bought the Sony and reused my current lenses, this saved my about $250.

I have used the camera for about a month and have taken close to 500 to 600 pictures already. They look great, I can put the CR card right into my son's PS3 and view them on a 52" LCD- they look just awesome.

Colors look great, less than 1% were blurry. I was taking some shots of the kids sledding and had to jump out of the way a few times, most of the pictures I took while I was moving were fine. I found no issues with the autofocus (time) and overall speed of the camera. I thought I would miss having 2.5 FPS instead of 3 or 3.5 FPS, the 2.5 FPS is plenty- at least for a non professional.

The camera is easy to learn and use. I took a few pictures from inside the house of the tree line and lake in our back yard. I wanted to test the different camera features and the two Konica lenses I owned. The pictures were taken through a sliding glass door using the 300 mm zoom and looked just incredible. I am so happy I had those old lenses around, hadn't used them in 10 years, because I might of bought the other camera and not of been this pleased. This is just a great camera for the money.

Cons:
Screen too small
Best Uses:

Comments about Sony DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Body:

My favorite things to photograph are butterflies. The live view mode allows me to get closer to the subject by moving the camera, not my body. It's so easy to switch between live view and viewfinder that I find myself using both regularly. I will say that the screen on my old sony dsc400 was easier to read in all lights. I'd love to see a larger brighter screen.

Cons:
A bit soft

Comments about Sony DSLR-A350 Digital Camera Body:

Excellent battery life for a DSLR . User interface could be better (like on the A700 or A900) but it's not worse than other cameras in this market segment. Low light performance is worse than on the A700 or other semi-pro cameras. Great resolution for cropping.
