I shoot primarily with a Nikon D200, indoor & outdoor, within a wide range of settings. This card is a great value [...] and stores roughly 150 images at a RAW + FINE setting (which stores a raw image and a high res jpeg simultaneously). The ability to capture several fps and have a jpeg image to work with too smooths my workflow, the storage size means I don't have to swap cards as often (more of a groove while shooting) and I don't have to worry with deleting on the fly if I've only got the card in the camera. Highly recommend.

I used the card with my Canon Rebel xti, at 4GB, it was possible for me to shoot about 1500 pictures at the highest format. Stores quickly, no delay at all. I am very satisfied with the overall performance.

I use the uncompressed RAW digital format, rather than the compressed JPEG format, for storing digital images on the CF card in my Canon 40D digital camera. This gives me much more control over all the image adjustments when I edit the images, as opposed to the JPEG format where the camera makes many image adjustments prior to compressing the file. The downside to this is that images in RAW format are about 2 to 3 times larger than the same image in JPEG format. Which, of course, means that I need a lot of in-camera storage space for my digital images. However, I don't like to use CF cards larger than 4 GB, because if I lose or damage a CF card I will lose a lot more images with the larger size cards. So, I carry a number of 4 GB cards with me when I'm shooting. And, it's not like you have to stop all that often to change CF cards ... even a 4 GB card holds a lot of images. Also, there is the cost factor. Buying larger cards usually ends up being more expensive (sometimes a great deal more expensive) than buying a number of smaller capacity cards which, in total, equal the capacity of the one larger card. Also, you will find significant price differences for the same brand and same capacity cards depending on their specified write speed. For instance, a 4 GB SanDisk Extreme III CF card, with a specified 30 MB/s write speed, is about half the cost of a 4 GB SanDisk Extreme IV card with a specified write speed of 40 MB/s. "Specified" is the key word, because, the actual write speed depends on the particular camera that the card is used in, and it is almost always much less than the specified write speed. So, is the faster speed of an Extreme IV card worth the extra cost compared to an Extreme III card? Not in my opinion. And the real kicker is that either card, when installed in my Canon 40D, will write data at approximately the same speed. According to published test results, the Extreme III 30 MB/s card is a mere 2% slower than the Extreme IV 40 MB/s card when writing RAW format files in a Canon 40D digital camera. All of this is a very long-winded way of saying that I think the SanDisk Extreme III 30 MB/s 4 GB card is a terrific value!

This is my second 4GB Extreme III CF card. My first one works so well and is so reliable that I bought a second. My Canon 40D can shoot 6.5 frame per second in servo mode and this SanDisk CF card is more than fast enough to capture every image. This card has been very reliable and I've never lost a single shot. My job requires me to travel and work around the US in a variety of climates. Last March I was documenting events in extreme cold (-20F) and the Extreme card came through. Another card worked the first day and then died. If I did not have a variety of Extreme cards (II & III), I would not have been able to do my job. This is a 200x fast card, and it is better than my 133x Lexar Professional card. Although the size is only 4G large, but it is the right size for a single-sided DVDR storage. I purchased three of these cards and sold my older cards from different companies. One of my original cards was rated at 133x and the other was a 233x rated card. I can easily say that the Sandisk performs more quickly in several ways: one, buffer is cleared faster in camera (think more pictures at max FPS); two, camera goes through pictures more quickly IN the camera; and three, transfers files faster onto the computer (very noticeably faster).

While I'm not sure that these cards are rated faster than my 233x card, I can vouch that both in writing and reading, these cards perform faster.

My only gripe, is of course, price. I could have purchased a 8GB card for less than the price of ONE of these 4GB cards. Of course those 8GB cards were very low-line Kingston cards that don't have the quality reputation for underrated speed and reliability that sandisk does.

Ask yourself this: is it worth saving a little money on a memory card to use in that $1,000+ camera/lens combination, at the risk of not having your pictures be there? Or not having the performance you need when you want it?

Sure, not everyone shoots at 5FPS. If you're using an older, lower frame rate camera and don't shoot at a high FPS, then the read/write speed of these cards really isn't anything more than a small convenience. If you can take advantage of the speed, they really are worth the price.

I'd definitely recommend them to anyone who has spent the kind of money that a DSLR costs.

I have used this in my camera for a few weeks, and it seems to work OK, except that once I turned on the camera and it said there were no images because of a memory card error. This didn't sound good, because I had taken a few dozen photos on my vacation. I turned the camera off and on again, and then everything was OK- all the photos were there. Not obvious if this was the camera's fault or the memory card's, but I suspect the memory card because the camera has not done this before in the 8 years I have had it.

I picked up three of these [$]Compared to the 233x RiData card I had on hand, these write much faster with the rapid shot mode and are the 30MB version. I went from a 4 picture limit to 8-9 picture limit before the camera pauses to clear it's buffer. Free recovery software download on each of them also is a nice to have, but have not needed it yet, and hopefully never will. Only negative is to get the software, you need to download it, then install it, and then put in your SanDisk provided key, then contact the software company (software connects over the web or email is an option) to get your unlock code. Kinda hard to capture your unlock codes for your multiple copies and save them for when you need them for impromptu disaster recovery while out and about.

Works great in my D300! Got three of them to cover my city, landscape, and tennis photography. I did not need the blazing fast 300X Extreme IV cards as I am not a pro and these cards are already pretty zippy! They hold up well to the 100°F heat of Arizona and Nevada and bitter cold of Alberta, Canada. Card size is a bit small, but at 152 pics shooting RAW, it is more than enough for me. You get almost triple that number if shooting Fine jpegs. At a little over [$]/card with rebate, they are a steal! You will not be disappointed.

I'm using this card with Canon 5D DSLR which doesn't support UDMA so top write speed tops out at about 7.2MB/s. However, the noticeable improvement lies in image review time and delete time, with my old card it took much longer to delete a file on the camera, now it's almost instantaneous.

Unfortunately when used with a USB card reader the increase in performance hasn't been as obvious. Still great value for money and would be future-proof when one uses next-gen cameras like 5D mk II which support UDMA.

I use it on my D200 and it works great. There is not much difference of using a fast card on the camera since it has a large buffer but the photos transfer quickly to the computer which is surely an advantage when transferring 4Gb of files.

The Sandisk Extreme III CF card is an excellent and reliable standard for digicam media. It's reliable, it's recommended by Nikon for use in their cameras, it's fast, and I find the 4GB size to be just right. I've never had a Sandisk card corrupt or fail on me, but if I did, I'd rather it was a 4GB card rather than a 32GB card.

I have been a long-time fan of the SanDisk Compact Flash cards. They have always been reliable and took a beating while in the field on a shoot. In the past I have been using the Ultra II cards but thought I would give the Extreme III cards a try. I found that they have the same bulletproof build that I have come to expect from SanDisk. I didn't really expect to see much of a difference in read write speed and with my Nikon D300 I have to admit they did not appear much faster while in the camera. I did notice a significant speed differential when transferring the hundreds of photos I had shot. The Extreme III cards were blazingly fast. I upgraded to these cards and can see a big difference in speed. The 4gb cards seem to write faster than the 8gb cards. I feel for events its better to have the shots spread out over multiple cards is the best way to protect your photos. I have 4 of these on hand for events and have never needed more.

I use these to take pictures at events at church. I bought three of these great cards. It is great to have more than one card. It make it easier to print and shoot at the same time. The rebate was a great incentive too. Great quality. The real-deal.

The card is rated at 30MB/s, faster than my USB CF reader (20MB/s) and way faster than my camera (about 6MB/s). It also fits about 5 more photos than my Lexar 4GB card.

I use this For my Dell Axim 51v as a storage medium, and for my Digital photo frame memory and this works good. I bought three, 1 causes my computer to reset in the card reader, I suspect that the problem may be with the card reader.

I use this in my Canon EOS 20D and it is spacious and fast. I have several of these so I take all my photos in RAW, and with RAW settings it allows 400+ images per card. I got it with the Sandisk rebate as well so all-in-all, it was an excellent investment.

I principally use this as a stock or "go to" item for the Canon Rebel. The 4G capacity fits nicely when backing up on to a 4.7 DVD w/ some overhead storage. The speed is good for shooting digital photos at the full raw version or tiff

Good, consistent performer. Obviously it's not as fast as the UDMA Extreme IV, but it's the previous generation and much less expensive.

I use the 4 gig card in my Olympust E-520 and E-500 DSLR. Have not had any problems with the card and is doing the job. The capacity for the price makes this a great deal. I typically shoot RAW format with my Nikon D300, and the images use a great deal of space quite quickly. So 4GB is a great size. The faster transfer rate of this card (up from 20mb/s to 30mb/s) quickens transfers into my photo library.

The only con i can think of this regarding this card is its relative incompatibility with many digital products. But if you need to buy a compact flash card, you're more than likely using a higher level DSLR anyway.

I picked these up for my Rebel XTi - had the 2gb Ultra II units previously and wanted the ability to stream shots without hitting the buffer limit (~5 shots before lag). These hit the spot, the buffering issue is gone and 4gb is right about the top of my comfort zone for having 'all of my eggs in one basket'. Nice sidebar - 4gb is also about the limit of my battery - I change the memory card and the battery together.

I use this 4GBCF card in a Canon Digital Rebel XTi shooting wildlife in motion. This card, listed at 30MB/s performs as expected compared to a 2GB card I also use listed at 50MB/s.

This is my third compact flash extreme card and I absolutely love this card and would use nothing other than sandisk. I have tried a few other "high end" cards and found them to be inferior to the sandisk extreme. If you have a digital SLR camera and want a fast, reliable, flash that is good for any shooting circumstance then this is the compact flash for you. I know that you will be satisfied.

I bought this to use with my Nikon D70. Using the largest jpeg format I can take over 1100 pictures. More than I will need with the D70. It will come in handy shooting sports especially soccer.

I am an avid ameteur nature photographer and I use these cards in Canon XTi and 40D cameras. While not the fastest cards around, with my 40D set at 6.5 fps I have taken 20+ shots and never had a write problem. They are consistantly reliable. I have never had a failure with them yet and have some that are over 2 years old. If you want a CF card that is reliable and at a reasonable cost, the Extreme III cards do the job.
