I recently purchased 2 of these cards for my Canon 50d. I love the write/read speed and I have never had any issues with SanDisk cards failing. I have heard SanDisk will soon be phasing these cards out and spotlighting the extreme cards. These cards are fantastic, why not stock up on them at a great price?!fter mail-in rebate)

I upgraded from a typical 4gb Compact Flash in my DSLR and I couldn't really quickly take RAW pictures. However, now that I upgraded to the Extreme III I can take them as fast as I can focus. I am addicted to the speed of these cards and I will never go back to the normal CF cards.

Overall, this is a very nice card. I get the full 6.3 FPS on my Canon 50D, and it's quite difficult to use up the burst buffer as it empties so fast (with JPEG).

I get about 1200 photos using Superfine JPEG, but only about 250 RAW. If I was going to shoot a whole day of RAW, I would want at least 16GB

Super quick for the money. Both with taking multi frames per second shots and downloading to the PC for review. 8GB can hold over 600 shots in 12mb RAW format. I have never encountered issues with the Extreme CF cards that I would have with the Ultra II's, no more corrupted files when down loading. Great value for the money

I used this card with my sony a200 DSLR, it works wonderfully and has excellent read/write speeds. Have no hesitation in buying this card.

The average writing speed is around 19.x mb/sec with my netbook, definitely decent and top notch. Used on Sony A700 and did not notice any lag while doing Raw+jpg with continuous shots. Some people may need extreme IV or even extreme Pro with their new D300s or EOS I mk.V but I guess not the majority of the population here.
There are other brands like Lexar having high speed CF too but not as reliable as Sandisk in long term IMO.

It is used in a DSLR. The card is fast for my use so that I do not need to wait for the storing procedure. 8 GB is also large enough.

they work great! flawless so far.I have the 5 d mark II 22 megs a files in raw needed bigger fast cards . Tried the recovery software included and it works, didn't need it... just wanted to feel safe. long time exposers .....Nice.

Bought 3 of these cards with the promotion of the mail in rebate. Ends up being about $28 per 8 gb card. Fast and large storage for my D300. Pretty expensive without the rebate, but with it the cards are a great buy.

good card for DSLR,reliable and easy to use, but the read speed is far away from 30M/s which advertised by the maker. Maybe this is caused by my card reader,but it is brand new, anyway, this is the best choice for DSLR, I do not wanna lose pictures of my vocation. I only trust the SANDISK.

SanDisk 8GB Extreme III memory cards rule. I have been using other various memory cards for the past 2-3 years photographing weddings and other fast pased events. No other memory card then the SanDisk provides me with such fast results! And the quality of the image is perfect!! I've never had one fail on me and think I never will!!! SanDisk is the way to go!!! Buy them with a rebate, and it is a photography blessing from up above. ;) (BTW I use a Nikon D300 and seem to get less pictures on a memory card then if I put the same on in a Canon 30D- Does this mean I get more quality for my pictures using a Nikon? Or is it just the build of the cameras?)

The increasing irony in retail today is that as we advance in technological capabilities instead of getting better products we get worse ones. Driven by the bottom line, many companies choose to manufacture low quality products designed to make a quick buck.SANDISK IS NOT ONE OF THEM.Having experience with various flash products by several different makers both brand name and not, I've consistently been pleased with SanDisk's quality. (Except for the fake one I bought on [...] but that's a different story. Don't buy flash cards on [...]) Thus when I needed a few top of the line CF cards I turned to SanDisk's Extreme product line, and as always I am not disappointed.It's fast. It hasn't been long since I've purchased them so I'm not absolutely sure of the reliability, but on the other hand, based on my previous experience with SanDisk's Extreme cards, it's not even an issue in my mind.The one drawback to these cards is that in order to get them at a good price, you're going to be waiting for a rebate. Once a manufacturers rebate is available, it's still a waiting game to get the rebate. Being accustomed to rebated purchases, I'm okay with this, but for some this could be a problem. Despite this drawback, the SanDisk Extreme flash cards are a definite must have for reliable performance.

Three years ago when I bought the digital SLR camera I splurged ($200) on a 2GB Extreme III CF card. It allowed me to store 460 pictures before downloading -- a real benefit on trips with lots of photo opportunities but not much access to the laptop. Now, with the 8GB version I can take over 1800 pictures! Big deal? Will I ever really NEED that much capacity? I don't know, but at a price of only about[$] after rebate, I couldn't pass it up.It works great, as expected.

I bought this for the larger file sizes of my soon to be new camera the Canon 5 D II.This type is also recommended by Canon for the 5D II for the faster speed writing capabilities.

I am a professional sport and event photographer who needed the additionsl Gigs for RAW shooting of Friday night football. I was sold on Sandisc Media cards when I accidentally "washed and dried" one card loaded with over 400 photos in our laundry. Believe it or not, the photos survived the water, soap, heat, tumbling in the dryer and were unaffected! WOW, what a product. I will always use Sandisc Media.

I use SanDisk CF cards exclusively, after some negative experiences with other brands wherein I was unable to read digital images captured on the cards in my digital camera. I've shot over 10,000 8MP and 10MP RAW images on my SanDisk CF card and haven't lost a single image. The Extreme III card easily handles burst mode with 6.5fps capture.
