I am not fond of how you have to keep a hold on the slide button when inserting the USB into a port or else it slides back in but I did wash it in the dryer and after I let it dry out it still works great and didn't ruin any of my information on it. So I'm pretty happy with it.

I have one of these myself and I bought several this year as stocking stuffers for my nieces and nephews. I picked this model because it has the retractable USB connector. I teach at a community college and my students are constantly losing flash drives and caps. I thought this model would save my nieces and nephews from losing caps. I added a lanyard to help with not losing the drive itself.

I haven't had this long enough to test the limits but I am happy with what I have seen so far. I am concerned about dust collection or pocket lint jamming up the USB fitting but will deal with that if it happens

It doesn't have the cap so I don't need to worry about losing the cap.

In that Windows offers ReadyBoost as an option to speed up computers, especially older models, this thumb drive works nicely for that purpose. Microsoft suggests using a 2.0 USB drive with at least twice the storage of your installed memory. Since my computer has 2GB on board this 4GB drive is the perfect answer for my needs. In Vista and Windows 7 ReadyBoost is an option available as soon as the drive is inserted in the USB port.

The SanDisk Cruzer has been invaluable to me as one method of backup storage. Its interface is intuitive and quite easy to use.

It has a "safe to eject" function which prevents possible loss of data on its drive, and despite having inadvertantly removing the thumb drive a few times before clicking on "safe to eject", I've never lost any data.

No more lost lids with this USB drive and its retractable cover, however, it comes pre-formated and with U3 software that is difficult to remove. You must know what you're doing to get rid of it completely and have a normal drive. I use mine as a portable drive, and have used it as a bootable drive to to install a new OS.

The first thing you should do is remove the U3 stuff. It is a blatant form of spyware if there ever was one. I can understand if you were getting it free and this was the manufacturer's way of recouping their cost, but you bought it, it should be free of malpware.

I found my batch of four particularly hard to insert into computers but I figure with time it'll get loose.
