Haven't had it long enough to comment on ink consumption, but the ink is pricier that the i-80 ink tanks. The i-80 was a good portable printer and very compact. This printer seems like a monster in comparision, but still easily fits in my backpack and, as far as printing goes, it is superior in every way to the i-80... begins printing sooner, prints much faster, and the text quality is far superior. Have only printed one photo, which was impressive, however, I purchased for mobile text printing, so don't envision much photo printing. Very satisfied so far.
