The first thing I noticed is how quickly it removed facial hair, much faster and smoother than the older [Quadra] model it replaced, because of the newer blade design. I did find one peculiarity: The new shaver head allows each blade to individually pivot, which makes for closer shaving on curved surfaces [chin, neck, etc...]. However, I noticed that the longer my whiskers are the more they seem to get snagged in the crevices between each cutting head [the crevices are necessary for the pivoting action]. This is only a theory and I can't think of any thing else that would cause this to happen. I do not notice this when shaving my head even when the hairs are longer. That may be because the scalp is less sensitive as my face. Perhaps it's just me. But generally speaking, I like this razor.

Recently bought a Braun after many, many years as a Norelco guy just to see if I could do better and that was a huge mistake........ Braun was awful and took forever to get a bad shave, so after 30 days I ordered the 8750XL and got the famous Norelco close shave back that I need. Great shaver!

Did some searching, found good reviews for this product so I gave it a try. I had been using the other kind of shaver for years and just was having issues with it (battery and whatnot). So this was a bit of a gamble for me. I also keep a goatee. I read somewhere that these type of shavers aren't good for people with a goatee, and perhaps that's true for other shavers, but this one does fine. I can get in close. Once in a while it will yank a hair out, but that's no big deal really. I can see how you won't be able to sculpt very well with it though.

It clears the areas you want fast and painlessly, and with far less irritation than other shavers I've had. Handles the curves of your neck/throat very well. Incredibly long battery life too! Its quiet, something I wasn't used to coming from a reciprocating shaver.

Definitely get this if you're on the fence!

I've had several Norelco shavers over 25 years. They were very reliable except for one. This one is easy to rinse clean (no more having to take apart the pieces and clean each one with a brush). Very convenient features: quick or full charge, cord or cordless operation, more indicator lights than other models.

Charges Fast! Daily shaving takes less than 2 minutes. Very light and very quiet. Easy to clean shaver heads. No after shave burn!

Best shaver I ever used. Easy on my neck which has always been a problem, super quiet, fast, full charge in 1 - 2 hours.
I usually shave every 2 - 3 days. This shaver has no problem with the longer whiskers.
Cons - no storage case, the trimmer could be better.

This razor replaced another Norelco 7800 series model that I had been using for years. I have always used Norelco razors (40+ years) without an issue. Newer models keep getting better (quieter, easier to use, etc). Don't give up on it right away as it takes a little while for your face to get used to it (especially if you haven't used one before). I love this razor [...] I would buy this razor again in a second. It's the best Norelco I have owned!!!

I had an older Phillishave 5000 series. This made for a great upgrade with a way better shave. My only quip is the extra $10 I paid for the plastic base you get with the 8250xl. I think it's the only difference between this and the 8240, and it's not even a charging station. Just a piece of plastic to hold your shaver that's so light when you pick up the shaver the stand comes with it.

So far so good. I only have it for less than a month - but I really like it.

I hope it lasts. I havent even had to charge it once yet. I hoping for good results there too.

Easy to clean. Like the idea that i can buy replacement heads after one year of use. The battery needs to hold up - that will be the true key.

I use REMINGTON DRY POWDER STICK after i wash and dry my face, apply and leave it alone, JUST shave it, besides the razor rinses real easy.

The 8250XL is a well functioning razor. I have not found an electric razor that can shave as close as a blade, but this one comes about as close as you will find. It is also very quiet, unlike some other models. It is easy to clean, but you need to give it a thorough wash in hot water each time to prevent any residue buildup. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because there is always room for improvement. This razor is not perfect, as 5 stars implies, but it is about as good as you can get.

Norelco (Philips) had made great strides in shaving until they came out with the poorly designed Architech shaver. Where do the clippings go??? Anyway, this shaver (8250XL) has it all including a receptacle for the clippings! I've tried most of the the well-known foil razors (Braun, Remington, Panasonic), wet and dry, and this one beats 'em all. I have a dense, scruffy beard that grows every which way. No problem for this Norelco. This razor shaves the entire face well. The foils are good in a few areas but not on the neck!! One suggestion - don't force the razor onto the face when shaving. Use a light touch, and let the shaver do the work - not you!!

After years of using non-rotary shavers I decided to try this Philips rotary. It was great right away. The instructions say that it might take a few weeks to feel right but I liked it right away. And, it's way way quieter that my old style. Also, easier to hold. I'm very pleased with it.
