Purchased this model 18 months ago and just purchased another one for my parents. I love the ease of plugging in an address and then being directed to the location. It anticipates and informs you of turns in advance - perfect for congested areas where advance notice for lane changes is necessary. Also the ability to search for nearby restaurants, gas stations, etc. is great.

Benefits of this model include voice prompts with street names, for example, "turn right on Elm Street." The only negative with this model is that you cannot enter preferred routes enter more than one "way point" (points along the way), so if you want to avoid a highway calculated by the Garmin as the best one based on your preferences (fastest route or shortest route), it will keep recalculating the directions using that highway (for a trip up and down the east coast, you can't avoid I-95 for example).

Other than that, this IS the best thing since sliced bread - I love it!!!

Great GPS for either a beginner or an experienced person. Setup is simple as it gets. Suction cup really has suction. Great directions, recalculates well. Small, light, and compact yet still easy to read in both dark and bright conditions. Abes was great, my first purchase through them, but I HIGHLY recommend them. They have some of the best customer service I have seen and I don't give out that credit often nowadays.
