Comments about Bowflex 100182 Select Tech 552 Dumbbells:

This is an awesome product to use with home workout systems. I currently use these weights with P90X, their fast transitions from big to small are excellent in making sure my workout isn't lagging.

These weights are bulky, but they also serve a huge array of many hand held weights, so overall they are a space saver.

The weights can not be dropped, as they can break, so you need to keep in mind they aren't for power lifting or for maxing out.

Comments about Bowflex 100182 Select Tech 552 Dumbbells:

Overall I am quite happy with this product. It's compact, it has great weight range, and it's convenient if you can't work out in the same place all the time.

My only complaints are as follows:
-the actual size of the dumbbell is larger than most (due to the nature of the design), so certain exercises feel a little different and this can be off-putting until you get used to it

-sometimes the dial will stick so that it's hard to turn; to be fair, a friend who owns these told me that he had this problem upfront then it went away after he used them for a while

-sometimes the bar/weights won't detach from the base; this can be frustrating if you're right in the middle of a workout and you're trying to change weights really fast, but other than that not a huge issue

I use this for P90X and it works fine for me. I love that I don't need a rack in my garage; I can just set these on the ground. This is definitely the best alternative to buying individual dumbbells.

Comments about Bowflex 100182 Select Tech 552 Dumbbells:

I was needing to update my weight set with 25 and 30# dumbbells these allowed me to get both in one package. Since these adjust to 52.5# each there is room to grow. They take up a lot less floor space then separate dumbbells so open up the floor area. The only draw back is they are large in diameter and I can contact the ceiling in my basement workout room not a real issue I just have to plan ahead. Great Product!

Comments about Bowflex 100182 Select Tech 552 Dumbbells:

I really like these dumbbells, and they are very well built. The space-saving aspects are a God send for people who do not have a dedicated exercise space in their home.

The biggest issue I'm contending with is it limits the exercises you can do with them because of their fragility.

I am currently doing the spartacus workout which requires you to do T-pushups ON the dumbbells and I have confirmed with the manufacturer that this will break them...bummer.

I spent all this money on them and still had to pick up some iron weights too to do some of the exercises.

This is why I recommend them for 'free' lifting only. If you need to put your weight on them or hold them upright instead of parallel to the ground you may damage the 'gears' that enable you to switch between plates.
