I have an earlier model by the same manufacturer. It has none of the problems that a previous reviewer experienced, even after several years of use. I suspect he had a defective unit.

After putting this item together, it was very hard to peddle and made a grinding noise. Checked the resistance level on it and it was on the lowest setting. So the grinding noise and being very hard to peddle isn't caused from the setting being on a higher level. Still trying to read the instructions to see if there is a way to make any adjustments. So far, not happy with the bike[...]
