Comments about Kettler EX1 Upright Bike 7983-790:

Though the assembly instructions were only diagrams, it was remarkably easy to set up. It is very well made and all the parts fit perfectly. I am also very impressed with it's quiet stable ride. The seat is pretty comfortable, but we added a gel cover anyway. It has options to vary your progrgam to make it as intense of a workout as you would like.

The only thing I would say is that the instructions, while fine for assembly, are far less clear to me with regard to adjusting the workout, display, etc. It a fair amount of trial and error and digging to get the methodology down.

Bottom-line, however, is that it is exactly what I was looking for.

Comments about Kettler EX1 Upright Bike 7983-790:

I enjoy riding for fitness, but moved to an area where the weather is too cold to ride comfortably for 1/2 the year. Wanted a quiet well made upright to simulate a ride. Read reviews on Kettler and most people liked them. This had the features I was after and reports that it was very quiet. Turns out to be way quieter than expected. It was remarkably easy to set up and is very stable. Currently, I'm setting it to target maximum heart rate and it adjusts the resistance to get me there and keep me there. The only drawback is that the seat could be a little more comfortable. It's OK, but I may yet change it out. And I am having trouble figuring out how to make adjustments to the program. The instructions are visual, which worked great for the set up, but just aren't working well for me with the programming. Looks like I'll have to make a call. Bottom line: I can recommend it for a smooth, quiet, stable ride.
