Still learning its various uses, probably better in areas not familiar, appears not to always indicate shortest/quickest route in known places in home town. Bright screen,clear voice with accurate notification of upcoming streets & locations. Easy install, still learning stuff it can do...tough on adding vias while adding routes.

Clear, easy to read. In urban travel, registers intersections when you are at the far side. Have to really get on the brakes or turn back. Information re gas stations, etc., seems pretty dated. This is my first GPS, so maybe I expect too much.

We just came back from a 1500 mile round trip using this. Real handy finding credit unions for cash, gas stations in the middle of no where, and providing an accurate arrival time. Playing MP3's through the FM transmitter works better in rural areas where there are less radio station, this is when the transmitter shines; forget about it in the city. The Bluetooth feature was ok. I found myself yelling a few times while talking on the phone, probably because of the cabin noise while traveling at 75 mph. My wife preferred using her ear piece instead. I found it annoying having to put the unit away every time we stopped anywhere (to prevent theft) and to hook it back up when we were back on the road. The traffic report (in larger cities) interfaces with the unit great. We were aware of any problems way before getting to it. In the boonies there was no traffic report available so you're still on your own out there.
Navigation units are like cell phones. We expect navigation units to navigate well like we expect cell phones to make and receive call well. This unit does a very good job at navigating; it's accurate, provides alot of information while navigation, and has alot of navigating tools to use.

Great GPS Unit, it is rated number 2 on consumer reports, the number one rated is a tom tom which is a little over 760.00. The Nuvi 760 is a wonderful unit, and very easy to use

I used the Nuvi 760 on a 1100 mile trip and it took me doorstep to doorstep for evey address. Also amazing was the estimated arrival time was spot on.
I am also impressed with its ability to locate most any business and attraction in just a few moments. I have used it several times in my hometown to go directly to places I am not familiar and it leads me there without failure.

The only con I have is with the other capabilities that have nothing to do with navigation; viewing photos and playing MP3 files. Both features work well, but I do not have a need for them in a navigation device but wanted some of the other feature I could not get with a 200, 300 or 600 series model.

I love my NUVI 760, it's is well on it's way to paying for itself in gas/time savings!

I am new to Upstate NY area and this gadget has really helped me find my way around and saves megas on locating short-cuts. It was simple to learn, I never even read instructions and could figure out!

The find a local store,restaraunt, museum, park,gas station features are great! It'shelping me learn my new area and to try new places most efficently.

The only downside, is once in a while, it tells you to turn toolate to make an exit, but that depends on what zoom resolutionyou are in. Would be nice if you could vary the voice instructions as this ladys voice gets irritating at times, otherwise I love this GPS!

I using this devise for job every day, many addresses per day.
Some time my screen freezing in one picture on highway and I have been lost exit on highway and must to drive too far. It's very disappointing.
Some time shows not best way to go...
But the rest is very good devise.

I love the GPS, but I found that the manual was very frustrating. It did not give specific instructions for how to use the system. I had to keep entering things until finally something worked. Trying to find the directions to a point of interest in a neighboring state was awful - I kept coming back to my own state. Now that my daughter was able to figure out how to input, I love to use it!

Use this GPS for leisure and business. Great help in finding hotels and restaurant options when traveling. Love the estimated time of arrival feature. Has several data displays for those that like statistics when traveling.

It does what I bought it for.
It has not sent me in the wrong direction yet. I've had it for several months. I've done several out of state trips. It is easy to use. The unit offered me a better route more than once than the internet directions, and directions I received from people that know the area that I was visiting.
The sofware offers a couple of ways to enter a destination, I've had need for them all.
The unit takes more time than I would like to find satellites. That is very frustrating to me. It doesn't help me find alternate routes. I haven't been able to use the picture viewer. The suction cup was great, but recently it has faltered. I'm not sure if it is because of the cooler temperatures and the variations during the day.
This is much better than the one that came in my wifes car. I purchased a couple of the basic models for my employees.
I suggest that you buy the model that you need. There are variations of this brand that have useless features. Be sure of the model number that you want, and stay specific to that.
I'm not impressed with the battery life, but I've been told that is common.
All in all, it's a good product, especially if the price is right, and I would buy it again.

Great functionality, but Garmin does need to update the POI's more often so that it doesn't send you to store locations etc.. that no longer exist.

After checking out several models by Garmin and others, the nuvi760 has given me the most for the least. Wether traveling , running around town(with the real time traffic updates) it makes it a breeze and no more sitting in traffic jams, or trying to remember where you parked your car. No more cd`s to fumble with, I use a 2gig S/D card to down the music I want. And the picture viewer, is great for checking out yours or a friends digital pictures. Plus the hands free bluetooth makes it safe to take or make your calls while driving. I would reccomend this unit to anyone looking for a good dependable GPS with just enough frills to make it fun too.

This is my first navigation system. It is easy to use and extremely reliable. My family took 2 long road trips last summer. We can't live without it anymore. I looked at many units before buying. This unit has had multiple positive reviews. I would highly recommend it.

I have used this product EVERY DAY for over 100 days (3.5 months).You can find many reviews of the Garmin NUVI series online. I am gearing this review to those who have had experience with earlier but bulkier dashboard models, such as the StreetPilot series. I will simply list the Pros and Cons.CON: Too many Nuvi permutations. 200, 205 205W, 300, etc. You get it! Let's just say that the 700 series has everything except Gyro-dead reckoning and voice input. (The 800 series recognizes voice). The 760 includes all of North America. The 780 adds base maps for Europe.PRO: Awesome size and terrific Mount/Unmount. Finally, you can travel with it through an airport without carrying a brick and a sand bag (and getting scanned for nuclear residue -seriously!!)A new feature can sense when you remove it from the windshield mount. Later, when you return to the parking lot, it will guide you to your car in pedestrian mode. That's certainly useful at malls & airports!Another new feature makes the entire unit useless to a thief. You can set a secret location (e.g. a street corner far from you house). If the unit is not brought to that location, the thief can never change the start-up password. Word about this great feature is getting out. Thefts of GPS devices will soon be down.PRO: Widgets! The Nuvi 760 is a full blown media player, including audio (MP3), image (JPG) and popular video formats.CON: The option to send audio to the FM radio provides MUCH better sound than the mono-rear speaker. But unfortunately, the FM signal is just TOO WEAK. Constant static - no matter how you reposition the unit.CON: I have not found a way to find Jpegs. I have a 16GB SD card filled with photos, and I can only page through the first few dozen, before I give out.CON: The traffic alert feature (free for 90 days) is useless. At least in mid 2008. I used it all across Arizona, Chicago and New England. It found a singal - but was wrong about upcoming traffic jams almost all the time.PRO-&-CON: Sensitvity, settling, 3D view. This baby can pull in an accurate GPS signal in any position, WITHOUT an external antenna, and often indoors or near the center off a car...But even outdoors, it takes forever to power on and settle in! I think it finds the sattellites fairly quick (about 30 seconds when stationary), but it takes another 1.5 minutes to draw the first screen (when set to 3D view). And for some reason, it won't calculate a new trip until it can draw the screen.PRO-&-CON: The new user GUI is very simple. New users will like it. But Garmin has deleted or buried many advance features. There is no more polar view of all sattellites and their signal strength. It is difficult to see an entire trip including times until each turn.In my opinion, finding every local restaurant or gas station is more complex. I have not yet tried to check local gaoline prices or check movie times. Frankly, with this new interface, I am a bit intimidated.You may think that I am setting this review up for 1 or 2 stars. No! The portablility, driving accuracy and bright, hi-res, giant screen (covers the entire unit) makes this a clear winner. But many of the extras (FM broadcast, Media viewer, Traffic avoidence) are useless in their current incarnation. My wife prefers our 6 year old StreetPilot 2710. I'll take the Nuvi 760 any day -- especially when taveling by plane.Ellery [@]

I found the 760 to be easy to read with great features. It connected quickly and the zoom feature worked great. Good use of searching by categories for finding places such as resturants, retail, and gas stations. I used it on a 5300 mile trip from GA to the Southwest and it gave me numerous falty directions, this after I downloaded 09' map software updates. It took me off of I-26 in Albuquerque, NM to a side road under construction to get to I-40 East. Then it took me to a [...]in Little Rock, AK that had been gone for 2 years! It was current on gas stations and it helped out in finding restaurants.

The Nuvi 760 often does NOT send me the faster or best route. In my hometown (Philly) it often takes me a longer roundabout way to my destination. On a few trips it worked good at times but one several occasions took me to the wrong address. Called for Teck support. They are very responsive and easy to access but did not improve my overall experience with this product.

Great Unit. I primarily use this unit in my car as it is cludgy to carry around the antenna and base mount. The heavy traffic detection works OK but, you need to continue the subscription after the first 3 months. The RF sound thru the radio is what it is. Overall, this GPS is a solid performer. The Bluetooth works well too. It has about everything you would want except for voice recognition.
