I use this daily in my work travels, which take me to specific address I'm not already familiar with. It's fast and accurate, works great. I really have no complaints thus far but the new features over my 3 year old GPS are great. Love the traffic and lane assistance. Would definitly recommend!

My first GPS was on my cell phone which wasn't very good. This unit, however, has proven to be outstanding so far. I haven't tried all the features yet as my old phone won't sync up with it. Not a big deal for me. It's been great at finding nearest gas or restaurants. Nice unit overall.[...]

It was incredibly easy to begin using this GPS, it is very easy to program, it is very fast to chart a route and it does a good job of adjusting your route to adverse traffic conditions. On a recent trip, it directed me around a tunnel that had been closed and saved me a great deal of time.

I use the Garmin even when running short errands since I can set up a 'custom route' and get finished sooner. The positive attributes are numerous, however the negative one although small in number are big ones: the ability to connect to the car via an FM channel is very weak, the battery life is very short and even fully charged the battery burns out quickly; the touch screen is very non-responsive or can enter the wrong menu/information.

I spend a lot of time on the road for both personal and professional reasons. POI's are very useful if you take the time to learn the details. I have been able to export data from a database and convert them to POI with tools available on the internet. I have over 200 locations to keep track of so this was a lifesaver for me.
This is my second Nuvi the first being a 680, the 765t has some very nice improvements in the interface. The speed limit display is real nice but a tone or some type of warning when changing or if you are over speed would have been nice. The bubble to the right of the menu button has the ability to display different information and the ability for it to scroll through the different options would have been nice.
I have never been a fan of the 3D interface since I want my screen to look like a map, you read maps with north up so that is my choice. Since I don't care for the 3D I won't comment on it other than it looks nice.
Lane assistance: I have put the GPS into simulation mode a couple of times and moved the position to an area that has lane assistance information and this worked real nice the, down side.. it's limited to a few area's. If you live in a major city you will love this feature.
After having the Nuvi 680 I started using the Dash GPS unit (No longer being made). I was a beta tester for the original product. After switching back to this Nuvi 765t I now have a whole new appreciation for Garmins interface one of the best out there.
The Bluetooth is not worth getting in my opinion. The speaker is not very loud and my Wife hears a lot of echo on the other end.
The free traffic is a nice touch and the coupons that pop up are done in a way that will not interfere with using the unit.

Has many desirable and useful features for a reasonable price (Abes).
Like other Garmin GPS, backward menus become redundant and time consuming.
The addition of a few key readily available "action keys/commands" would solve this problem. Volume control is a good example.
More detailed instructions on the use of the MP3 player is desirable. Like a caution that some music files do not transfer to this model.

The items you pay extra for are poorly executed. The FM transmitter is so weak it is useless! The internal speaker is weak and the ability to adjust the volume can be too distracting to do while driving. The bluetooth sync didnt work nearly as easily as my bluetooth speakerphone. In addition I have used other GPS units where the address entry was easier (its not bad it could just be better). The only way to consider this unit is if you were going to patch the audio out to your stereo's AUX jack, which would look bad.

Have owned the unit for a few weeks now, and I must say it's a vast improvement over my parents nuvi 660. The few, minor simplifications that Garmin did for their software made a world of difference. My mother who can barely turn a computer on instantly figured it out.
The Lane Guidance feature works very well, which is so nice for unfamiliar interchanges. I highly recommend any of Garmin's units that have this feature to frequent travelers.
Now, for the traffic. Free updates for life attracted me to this product, but I had to think a bit when I heard it was funded by ads directly on the unit. To be fair, I've only noticed an ad once, and it was when I was at a stop after reaching my destination. It was also very small and unobtrusive, not full-screen like I was expecting. While its annoying that it has induced another way for companies to bombard me with advertising, it does so in a way that I barely notice, so I can't complain.
Aside from the bells and whistles that come with it, the standard GPS functions work very well. I seem to be routed most places to arrive on the right, which is nice since based on the maps you can't always tell if there will be a median blocking a left turn into your destination. The bells and whistles add to the cost, but if you can afford it, I say go for it.
