Unit works exactly as advertised. I find it to better than my other 3 Nuvi's I have. Maps are nice, Lane Assist is KEY! The lifetime traffic, Europe maps (That have been spot on so far ALL OVER Europe) and Lane Assist are the reasons I bought this unit. I am used to the traffic being good, free makes it better. The maps are even better than my last one with Europe. The Lane assist is even better than I thought it would be. Those who I have seen complaining about it, in my opinion, have no previous experience with a unit that does not have the beautiful picture that pops up (for a short time, but seems to be JUST about rite) and then the BEAUTIFUL little green lane display in the corner. If I had to sum this unit up in two words..... TOP NOTCH

This really is a very nice GPS. It starts and picks up satellites quickly, and the maps seem to be very good. It recalculates routes quickly as well. Battery life is a little less than I had hoped, but it is usually plugged in, so oh well.

Using it in Europe, sometimes it is a little difficult to find the street you are after if you are not sure of stress marks, etc.

Works well except in a convertible with the top down. The audio is limited. Using an unused FM channel is not ideal. However, the speed at which it acquires a route is a huge plus. I'm also looking forward to testing out the European maps this coming spring. That is a major plus.

I have factory installed GPS units in my Honda and Toyota autos. This GPS runs circles around them at about 20% of the cost. I have had other Garmin products such as hand held for use on bikes and hiking. I have never been disappointed. I wish I had more control over many of the attributes as I am a power ussr. I bought the Garmin because it has the reputation for being the most accurate. I took it on a trip to San Diego and it was spot on for all the destinations I enetered. Other freinds using other GPS units were not as accurate for the same destinations.
