Comments about GARMIN Oregon 400T Marine & Auto GPS Navigation System:

I have to start by saying I LOVE this GPS! A lot of others complain about not being able to read in the daylight, but I have a feeling that they don't take the time to figure out how to do it (yes, it takes some getting used to, but once you know how, the backlight is unnecessary during daylight hours). It picks up a signal quickly and maintains it, even under heavy tree cover. I used it during a hike through a tropical rainforest and it didn't lose signal once! The geocaching feature on this is GREAT! Paperless is the way to go and with this unit in conjunction with [...], it doesn't get any better than this! I am still in awe today, and I purchased this unit some time back! Most complain about the battery life in this unit. If you read carefully, it tells you to use either Lithium batteries or NiMH that are over 2500 mAh (I use 3000 mAh). I have never had batteries die in this unit and I have had it on for over 10 hours straight (disable compass, enable WAAS, and turn the battery saver ON cutting out the screen image after 15 seconds when not in direct use).In closing, I would recommend this to anyone! I am very pleased with my purchase and I have no second thoughts about it. (ie: GET ONE TODAY!)
