Comments about MIO DigiWalker C230 Portable GPS Navigation with Text-to-Speech:
Overall the device works fine. I have owned the product for about one month and have used it due to a 6-month detour to my work and for a weekend road trip. It has had to reset itself and restart a few times, and on three subsequent days I was given three different sets of directions from work to home.
The unit is TINY which lends itself to easy storage, but creates difficulty when wanting to edit or look at anything else on screen when not sitting absolutely still. For example- if you want to mute the sound while driving (phone call for example) the volume is not accessible without going through a series of menus. There is a mute button on screen, but it is so tiny that I have freqently missed the button and accidentally added a via point to my trip I didn't want. (No Stylus included)
My unit also does not give text-to-speech directions as advertised but it is good to know that I can change languages at any time if I choose to learn Polish, Czech, French or Spanish in the future.
If you are looking for a replacement for your paper atlas this will work fine for you. I do recommend verifying your route with another method prior to going to a new place.
