Comments about GARMIN Oregon 300 Worldwide GPS Navigation System:

I plan to use the "300" for street navigation with optional City Navigator NT maps, even though it comes with worldwide mapping, but not all street detail.

I primarily use it for hiking with an older version of Mapsource Topo which I use in conjunction with City Navigator all loaded down on a 4 gig Micro SD card which installs under the batteries inside. However I was unable to get any more than 1 gig of info on that card. I will call Tech Support, thery are usually very helpful.

I have scoured all of their products and this fits the bill for me with: Electronic compass, Altimeter and large touch screen in Color .

Comments about GARMIN Oregon 300 Worldwide GPS Navigation System:

very deceptive on real base capailities. Wanted several hundred dollars in software upgrades of the capabililties listed as avaialable, such as elevation. Trails seem to be be non existent for the eastern US.
