This unit has been a headache form the minute I opened the instruction manual. Installation is a real pain in the neck. I finally gave up on the recommended install and ad-libbed it. Finally finish, turn it on and the compressor comes on but the fan won't blow. I call the factory and they give me the number of a certified repairman to call. Turns out the motor was set too low and put the squirrel cage fan was in a bind against the styrofoam. It's a pretty straightforward fix if you have the tools. The motor base needs to be shimmed with a 1/4" washer under the two outboard end of the motor assembly. Anyway today, after two weeks of fighting and waiting, I get to turn the unit on and let me tell you this baby is great. I live in a small duplex and right now it's cooling the whole place comfortably and it's 97 degrees outside. Bottom line I give it zero stars on installation and quality control...five stars for cool air, quiet operation, and energy savings.
