It was designed for use in a double-hung window.
Because it is so narrow, I bought it for a slider-type window. It fits, but I had to engineer a mounting system. Because the unit is relatively lightweight, this wasn't a problem.
It cools a 225 sq. ft. bedroom to 70F even on +90F days.
Like most small window units, it can be a little noisy. I'll take noise over heat anytime, however.
