I wasn't thrilled with the A/C initially, but I am now. Initially, the compressor was very loud. I called GE customer support, they sent out a technician, he moved or giggled something, and ever since, it's been quiet. It's a nice unit in all the ways an A/C unit should be. Highly recommended. (Oh, and GE customer support is surprisingly good.)
