Comments about KitchenAid KUDE70CVSS- Architect Series II -Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

Great dishwasher, when they say you can't hear it run unless you put your ear to it they MEAN it! Dirty pans go in the bottom facing the back and come clean no matter what's on them. My requirement was "I want to put a pot roast in it and have the dishes come out clean" and you know what? It just might work with this dishwasher.

The only negative that I've seen in other places and have experienced myself a few times is that it's very easy to block the soap dispenser so that it can't completely open. This leads to not all of the detergent being used and detergent on some of the dishes. Fortunately the fix is pretty easy, just push the rattle blocker back on the top shelf (they tell you to put it right at the front, but that puts a piece of plastic right against the soap door) and don't put anything super tall (like a cutting board) right in front of it on the bottom.

Also, be careful of Abe's $99 (or more) "white glove service." My guys refused to come up my driveway (it's pretty long and bumpy but not a problem for all the UPS and Fedex trucks that come all the time) and made me come down to the street and put it in my car. AND THEN THEY LEFT. So *I* had to load it into my car, carry it into my house, and open it and dispose of all the packing materials myself. Total rip-off. Not sure if I blame Abe's but they did call me and upsell it so....

Comments about KitchenAid KUDE70CVSS- Architect Series II -Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

First -- I cannot believe how quiet this dishwasher is. I have opened the door on a number of occasions as I can't believe it's running - even when standing right next to it. I was concerned that being water and energy efficient would translate to less cleaning power, but it cleans amazingly - even with no pre-rinsing of the dishes. A nasty glass baking dish straight from the oven came out perfectly clean. It seems as if some designs smarts went into this dishwasher... there is a spot or place for every dish and utensil... and EVERYTHING (shelves, racks, etc.) is flexible and customizable - you can fit anything inside this dishwasher....

Comments about KitchenAid KUDE70CVSS- Architect Series II -Dishwasher - Stainless Steel:

We cook dinner 5 or 6 days of the week, so we use our dishwasher pretty much every day.

This product has a really nice design and is very attractive in the kitchen. We got the stainless steel model with the controls displayed on the front of the machine, which we liked much better than the models with hidden controls.

We like the fact that it is an American made product where we can get good customer service and find replacement parts easily.

The dishwasher is very configurable which enables it to adapt to different dishes, pots and pans.

The dishwasher is amazingly quiet while it is running.

The only downside for us is that it is an energy efficient model that requires the use of a rinse agent in order to dry effectively. This requirement was not identified in any of the marketing materials. The company recommends Jet Dry, but I don't like using products that contain petrochemicals or other toxic chemicals. Luckily, I was able to find a non-toxic option at Whole Foods called Wave Jet by Earth Friendly Products. This works well and the dishes dry effectively without the toxic residue from products like Jet Dry.

If you don't use a rinse agent, the dishes do not dry effectively and there is a lot of residual moisture inside the dishwasher.
