Comments about GE JNM1851DMBB Over the Range Microwave - Black:

This oven, while compact, has a very spacious interior. It's quiet and effective. I haven't yet explored the menu variations in the control pad, but there are many. The "night light" feature is perfect. I don't know if the "done" beeper ever stops, but it doesn't like being ignored should you choose to not run and fetch your lunch as soon as it's done. While "standard" externally-vented models from the same family are a bit less expensive, and can be converted to recirculating-fan, I don't know that this modification is as simple as the instructions seem to suggest. This model requires no modification if you don't have an external vent, and thus you won't have to take it apart to reconfigure it. The recirculating fan is extremely quiet, and I don't know that the fan in the alternate model would be as quiet.Allow 2-4 hours for installation. Read through the instructions and make sure in advance that you have the right-size drill bits. The biggest problem I encountered is that while your wall provides anchoring and support, the majority of the unit's weight is suspended from the "floor" of the cabinet above -- and the "cheap" cabinet I have above needed reinforcement to provide the requisite strength. Put a stack of books on top of the stove for when your assistant's strength runs out. Also, cut a chunk of cardboard from the side of the carton and reinforce GE's hole-drilling templates before trying to use them. The template paper flops all over when you're trying to tape it upside-down.Once installed, however, it looks great, works great, [...] Now if it would only provide the food as well... ;)
