Jenn-Air dual-fuel ranges combine the power of a gas cooking surface with the precision of an electric convection oven. The JDS9860BD offers downdraft ventilation, an E-ven Heat grill on the left and two burners on the right that include a 16,000 BTU PowerBurner and a simmer burner that reduces to 650 BTUs. It also features a self-cleaning, two-speed MultiMode Convection and bake/broil oven. The Downdraft Ventilation is an innovation developed and refined by Jenn-Air, that is offered on several Slide-In Ranges. Designed to capture smoke, steam and odors at the cooking surface and pull them down and out of the kitchen, downdraft ventilation makes it possible to grill indoors year-round. It also opens the kitchen up to greater design possibilities, since it can easily be installed in island and peninsula settings without the need for an overhead hood.
