this thing the best deal for a practice
headphone amp for the price. It does so much more than other products in it's category it's ridiculous. I wouldn't use it live or in the studio though. But it's not really intended to be in my opinion.

I mostly use the Pandora to quietly practice the guitar with headphones. It works quite well for that but I tend to use the same few effects most of the time since it is a little tedious to scroll through them all. The Aux Pitch feature is nice and lets me play along with Nirvana, Van Halen, Alice in Chains, and other bands without tuning my guitar to E-flat. Perhaps the best feature should be the Phase Trainer which lets you record and loop a part of a song played through the aux jack and slow it down to learn it. Unfortunately the maximum length allowed is 32 seconds and the sound quality is terrible especially when slowed down. Even the best quality 8 second mode does not sound good enough to learn some song parts. I assume the problem is cause by not having enough memory to store the music at a good bitrate. If I could ask for one feature, I would want the ability to plug in an external memory card to expand the Pandora so it could record an entire song and play it back at low speed and high quality.

I bought this to use as a portable practice amp to use with headphones. The built-in drum, bass tracks are nice. My old V-amp sounds a lot better but is too bulky to carry around and lacks the drum and bass tracks. This easily fits in a guitar case. I picked up a Traveler Pro guitar off [@] and together they make a good traveling practice rig.

Very versatile. I bought the PX4D as a practice tool but I can see myself using it for performance too. I use it with both guitar and bass. The controls take a little getting used to, but it's not too difficult to use.

If this product came with a headphone jack and an optional guitar mounting kit, it would make it perfect for practice and live applications. You can still use a headphone adapter and set it up on a guitar strap but could be a bit more sturdy, the clip feels as though it could fall off if I were playing hard.

PX4D filled my need for a tap tempo delay for each live song played. I anticipated the reverbs and delays and amp modeling, but did NOT expect to get a great Leslie cabinet tone whose speed-change responds to my volume. Another bonus is the synth section waveforms. I use the Lee Oskar sound of octave down with auto wah with my harmonica, and the Sugar Blue sound of Detune with a little amp crunch tone compression. The Mickey Raphael sound for tremolo harmonicas is easily done with Detune.

Virtually limitless combinations of sounds are possible. You could spend hours just tinkering with the 100 presets and months filling the 100 user programmable. Sure, some are a bit too much this or not enough that, but they're all adjustable and can really be fine tuned. The "acoustic" setting, in particular, will make any electric sound like the real thing. This thing could eliminate the need and expense for a whole variety of stomp boxes. And at the current price of [$] [...]? Where are you gonna find a better deal than that? You're not. Trust me. I looked everywhere.Get this gizmo. You won't regret it. It's a serious gadget that's terrific fun!

I have used this unit live and at home for recording. It is bit noisey for any pro type recording but works great for quick ideas. An acoustic guitar sounds great thru this unit, although I use it mainly for bass. With all the veriables you can set for your own 99 presets, you can't beat it's usefullness.

Liked it so much, bought 2!!!
Absolutely amazing device in such a compact size! Great for practising! Can be used to experiment with different sounds and parameters can then be used to program a guitar effects device such as the Korg AX3000G.
Wish the bass could be turned off when using rythms. Also wish the rythm beats could also be programmed like the Alesis SR-16.

I have this and a rp250 digitech pedal and this thing blows it away. People said the digitech sounds too digital and it is true. There are so many options with this thing. Easy to use(if you browse through the manual) and small and portable. Comes with a strap clip. The aux in is awesome. I dont normally write reviews but this was worth it.

You just can't say enough about the PX4D. This thing is all you need for practicing and performing. I give this thing only 4 stars because the PX5D is the next step up and hands down 5 star winner.
The PX4D has all you need for all the sounds you want to create. Screw the multitude of amps and cabs in your garage with the PX4D you can use the presets or create your own combination. Now you can spend a little money on the PX4D to get the sound you are looking for then spend the big bucks on the amps and cabs if and when you can afford it, but I don't think your gonna need to. A simple rig and the PX4D and your set.
PX4D and PX5D is the future in how a guitarist makes music. Compact, small and simple with a big sound effects. Check the out on YouTube...
