Comments about KORG Pandora PX5D - USB Equipped Pandora:

The Pandora is awesome; I can't believe it isn't better known and more popular. This thing has excellent amp-modeling and effects sound, plus rhythm tracks, plus loop recording. It's a guitar player's dream. I don't know of any other single piece of equipment that can do all this— reasonable price and mind bogglingly-small size notwithstanding. I use it for daily practice and playing, and it's so ridiculously small it can go anywhere. The controls could be a little more intuitive, and it's so small and light that the weight of my guitar cord practically pulls it off the desk or table. But the sound and features are awesome, I don't know of any piece of gear that rivals the Pandora.

Comments about KORG Pandora PX5D - USB Equipped Pandora:

I bought this since I'm going to college, and needed something small and actually hear myself. I play bass mainly, and this actually sounds pretty good. The sound quality is decent for the price, and the once you get used to it, the commands are easy. However, the only complaint is, I had a some trouble actually making each of my basses sound different, meaning, generally, they'll all end up sounding the same.

I did try playing a bit of guitar with the Pandora also, and once again, sounded pretty good. I would definitely buy this for the price. Also, recording with this is a charm, especially if you don't have much money to spend. Great sound quality for the price.

Also a side note, I do find the effects a bit on the cheesy side, but I bet someone would find a use for them.

Comments about KORG Pandora PX5D - USB Equipped Pandora:

I would put the PX5D up against any multi-effects unit out there, plus this one fits in your pocket for on-the-go application. Coupled with headphones, now the hardest piece of equipment to move is the guitar.

I use pedals live, but practice with this unit. I love it.

The PX5D can dial in any tone your looking for, even make a bad guitar sound good.

I still haven't made it thru all the voices and effect or all the rhythm patterns yet. They all sound great. The possibilities are virtually infinite. I can't wait to lay down some tracks using the computer interface.

Comments about KORG Pandora PX5D - USB Equipped Pandora:

The best practice tool currently on the market. KORG had increased the sampling rate (now 44.1k FINALLY!!) and the internal memory; which now allows more recording time for loops/jam tracks, and a much improved metronome/drum machine. With 3 variations of each pattern.

The USB interface is a nice addition. But it's performance is not up to par with dedicated USB audio interfaces. The addition of patch editing via a PC or Mac (download the latest version of the software @ Korg's site), and the additional 128 patches that come with the newest sofware. Make this the perfect portable practice tool.
