Brand: DEAN
Located in: Musical Instruments, Guitars, Electric Guitars
Introduced in 1980, the Cadillac is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Originally designed with elegance in mind, the Cadillac has only improved with age. It's still offered with its original specifications including the select mahogany body and neck. Other options include: multi-ply binding, ebony fingerboard, block inlays and gold hardware. In addition, the new Cadillac is now available with a "carved", highly figured flame or quilted maple top. Like the Dean ML, the Caddy has appeared both onstage and in videos of many top artists over the past two decades. The Cadillac's biggest moment might have been the night it appeared on stage as the Dean endorsee walked away with five Grammy Awards.

Comments about DEAN Cadillac X Electric Guitar - Black:

I wouldn't say that I am experienced just due to the fact that I have friends that are experienced and are amazing guitar players... having said all that, this is my second guitar and it is a beautiful guitar. Aesthetically it is perfect!!!Now once I got to playing, that was another story. I plugged the guitar in and first of all, I only had 1 working pickup... Just the bridge pickup. I adjusted the volume knobs all the way up to make sure, and yes, one pickup. So I took the cover off the back of the pots and looked at the wiring. Everything looked ok, but the soldering on one wire looked funny. So I moved the wire and wiggled it to make sure it was making good contact, turned the amp back on, and bingo, 2 pickups working. The next thing I noticed is that the neck pickup was freakin loud, and the bridge, insanely quiet. I adjusted the height of the pickups appropriately (as to not sacrifice too much tone and put the bridge pickup on the strings!!!) and still the next absolutely kills the bridge. Something isn't right with the pickups and I'm not sure what....But then again, this is probably easily fixable. One of my buddies said he would put in some new pickups for me, so problem solved. For the money I paid, this guitar is very nice. The quality of the materials...pretty good. [*]
