This works much faster than using the camera to charge a battery. It obviously allows you to charge while you are filming. Buy genuine charges and batteries folks, don't cheap out when you've spent so much on your cam...

Use to charge one camcorder battery while the other is in camera. The charger is compact because it has no cord. It seems to take a long time to charge batteries -- even ones that haven't been used. Apparently, "intelligent" batteries discharge quickly without being used.
