I purchased this product for my first wedding shoot. I never had to think about the flash recharging, it was always right there.
I was most impressed with the fact that the salesman at Abe's of Maine asked what I was looking for and reached in back of him and grabbed off the counter. Obviously he anticipated my arrival after a phone call the night before to insure it was in stock.

If you need an all day flash but don't have the money for a quantum turbo, this is the trick. With hi-cap rechargeable AAs you can go all night.

There is no comparison between shooting a 580EXII, with and without this battery pack. Regardless of your battery choice, the CP-E4 extends the "fresh" level for your flash by 300% at least.
I can slam 600-700 flashes at a wedding, on one battery pack with NiMH rechargable batteries installed. Right around the 650 mark, the flash begins to refresh at 1-2 second intervals. At 700, I swap out because I'm spoiled and want immediate refreshes again. Seriously, this thing is that good.
Tired of your multiple radio-triggered flashes refreshing at different intervals? Stick CP-E4s on them, attached to the light stand. You'll pop off hundreds of perfectly synced shots without any misfires. Event photography has never been so easy, and its all because of this?! I couldn't believe it when I saw it, and I'm still amazed every time I use these things. I now own 3.
NOTE: NiMH batteries can be purchased with up to 3000 mAh per battery. They're 2-3 times stronger than your most powerful alkaline.
