On my sturdy and ruggedly-built Canon 7D, adding the BG-E7 only made it a more efficient shooting tank. Get one. Minus the added weight, it is simply a must have, giving the extra battery power and boost to a great camera.

I was pretty stoked on the 7D to begin with. Then the battery grip showed up and took the whole setup to the next level. Having that extra grip when I'm shooting ridiculous angles is so nice, not too mention the extended battery life I have now. I shoot a ton of HD vids as well as photos and haven't come close to running out of battery during a shoot yet. This thing is rad.

Item provides excellent extented run time. controls are well placed on the unit. Makes camera easy to shoot vertically.Makes camera feel quite comfortable to use. the weight is no problem for me due to the fact I prefer a heavy feel to a camera
