I didn't realize at first that the shutter release button could be 'slid' to hold the shutter open. (my previous cord for a different camera didn't have that). Once I figured out why the shutter didn't close, it was great to have the option of holding it open manually, or letting the release cord keep it open.

Works great on D80 and D70S. If you have the D70 (without the "S") you need the Infrared remote. I only wish the cable were longer when trying to do self-portraits, or include me in group shots. That's when I borrow my son's Infrared remote from his D70, because my D80 uses either. But doing night photography, this is wonderful.

A terrific addition to those who like to work in low light situations. Takes any movement out the equation. A nice, inexpensive tool for the camera.
