I really like this lens and the IS is great. Remember that the IS is not expected to be used for motion photography. The zoom is good too.

The only bad issue I have this it is that there is no (or little) resistance in the zoom feature - if I point the lens down or up without holding the lens, the zoom will slide on its own.

Canon wide angle to telephoto zoom lens

This is the zoom range I've used for 28 years on my 35mm film Canon camera. This one is auto focus and much smaller. I like the fact that the manual focus "ring" is less prominate than the frequently used zoom ring.

The zoom moves to gravity when aimed up or dowm.

easy to use. good clarity.
