Comments about Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens:

The lense works well. I took a hand held picture of a cruse ship on the horizon and was able to magnify the resultant photo with the camera enough to see the Mickey mouse immage on the stack. I have taken excellent close ups of flowers. The only negative is that it is sometimes slow to focus when first turned on. It works very well after this.

Comments about Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens:

I got this lens for father's day. This lens is going to be used as a replacement for the kit lens.

Just thought that the kit lens was very limited for close-ups and such. This lens is excellent for that.

This was worth every penny. The rapidity and the clarity of the focus is really impressive.

I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable, quality zoom for sports, or wildlife, or even general use.

I live in a swampy area where there are a lot of wild animals. I use the EF-S 55-250mm lens to get close up pictures that I could not get with a regular lens. It is easy to focus and when you enhance the image, it really comes out great. The
4-stop Image Stabilizer with automatic panning detection effectively suppresses blur while trying to get moving shots of moving animals.

I use this lens to get closer shots of my daughter while she is playing sports and distant scenery. This lens is very responsive and focuses very quickly. I have only used this lens a couple of times. The soccer season has just started so at this point I do not have any negative things to say about it. So far I am very pleased with this lens and the quality of the pictures it produces. I would recommend this lens to anyone.

I use it for nature shots, and a little indoor photography. I was surprised how well at full zoom it worked at low light levels and standard flash on camera Rebel XSi. I took a picture at 25 feet full zoom inside home with no lights on at night, picture was crisp and clear. I love it. Nice product for a nice price.

Comments about Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS Lens:

We originally purchased the Canon camera for snapshots and vacation photos. The original camera kit included an 18-55mm zoom. We found that 55mm wasn't enough to get you across the room sometimes or across the crowd at Yellowstone for example. This has been a great addition to our camera. It is now the default lens on the camera body.

One thing- the lower cost of this lens is apparent when you actually see the size of the lens. You may need a new camera bag, but it is worth the effort.

We are happy with the performance and happy with the price! One day we may move up to the higher end (and smaller) lens, but for today this is a great fit.

This is a nice lens by Canon.
This is my first IS lens as well. I enjoy sitting and being able to zoom in on my subject without having to get in their face. Great for shooting kids at the park/play. Great for scenery too.
Had no problems or complaints with Abe's.
No complaints with the 55-250mm IS so far. I have only had it about a month.
