The EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM is a lightweight, compact L Series telephoto zoom lens with Image Stabilizer. The optical Image Stabilization in the new EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM lens provides up to an incredible four stops of shake correction-a first for Canon IS lenses. The use of fluorite UD lens elements provides excellent optical performance in terms of resolution and contrast. These features, together with its water-and dust-proof construction, provide both the performance and portability to meet user demands.

Great lens. The pictures are sharp and colors are great. Went on vacation with 9 other families, and my pictures were far better color and clarity than all the others. Great action shots. The IS funtion is a must have!

Comments about Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS USM Telephoto Zoom:

I mainly use this lens on my Canon 500D for shooting bird, landscape, and sports photography. The lens is much heavier than the camera (including the battery grip) but I think that this is also a benefit when handholding the lens. The pictures are nothing but quality with the only bad photos due my own ignorance. Contrary to pictures on the web, the lens really isn't white, more of an off-white/gray.

Comments about Canon 70-200mm f/4L IS USM Telephoto Zoom:

I wanted an IS lens that I could use for action photography, mainly tennis matches. This is a great choice. I can pan out enough to make sure I catch the action, yet get sharp enough focus to get detail when I crop, even at a high shutter speed.
