Comments about Nikon 12-24mm F4 G ED IF AF-S DX Zoom Lens:

I purchased this lens to photograph a wedding in an old very small church. I am old school and I am used to using a 2 1/4" square with a 65mm which would be the equivalent of a 35mm on a 35mm. I have never purchased a Nikon lens that did not exceed my expectations and this lens is the same. I was looking at the Tokina 12-24 as well and spoke with a friend about this and he told me the same thing. “He has never purchased a Nikon lens that he was not pleased with”. So after photographing several weddings I am again totally satisfied with my purchase and I would recommend this lens to the most professional photographer. As with any extremely wide lens you have to be careful of the film plane parallel to the architecture and or the camera being level if you are concerned with convergence of your lines. And be careful not to put a large person at the edge of the frame as the wide angle distortion at or near 12mm will increase and distort their size. Other than the normal extreme wide angle distortions this is exactly what I was expecting and I am totally satisfied.

Comments about Nikon 12-24mm F4 G ED IF AF-S DX Zoom Lens:

Comparable to a canon L lens or a premium Nikon for the DX format. VERY sharp at almost all apertures and focal lengths. At 24mm f8 or f11 it is AS SHARP as it gets. Distortion is there at 12-14mm but is manageable.

Comments about Nikon 12-24mm F4 G ED IF AF-S DX Zoom Lens:

it's nice to have a wide-angle zoom to capture those scenery and for special effects. i'm very satisfied with its performance, although i always have to remember to remove the uv filter before attaching the slim polarizer to prevent corners from vignetting.
