Comments about Nikon 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Lens:

This is a very affordable Nikor Lens. Its very light and performs well. The only Con I can sight is the plastic mount. But you get what you pay for and I knew it had this going into the purchase. If you are not constantly removing and installing, it will not be a problem

Comments about Nikon 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Lens:

If you're only going to bring one lens, this is a good one. Nice wide angle on the low end and a pretty solid telephoto as well. It's a nice all around lens for most of what I use it for, indoor and outdoor pictures of the family and neighborhood sporting events.

One warning, if you're using the built-in pop-up flash (at least on my D50) this lens will cast a big shadow on many of your pictures. That said, once I put the big speed flash on, everything was beautiful.

The lens takes a little time to focus, particularly from one extreme to the other, but for general use where you're moving from item to item at similar distances, it wasn't really noticeable.

Overall, a very nice lens, I definitely recommend it.

Comments about Nikon 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Lens:

I bought this lens for my D90 as I did not want to carry and change two separate lenses and the 18-80mm standard lens did not have enough 'reach'. This has more than met my expectations on that front as there are very few shots I make when I think, 'gosh, I wish I had a 80-200mm or longer zoom'). I travel and have kids in tow, so a single lens solution was essential and this is definitely it. The image quality is superb. Period. My shots are far superior to those taken on a D90 (and its 4 extra mega pixels) with a standard lens. The lens is mostly plastic (as are all these days) and it feels that way, but the quality seems sound and the movement is good. The pay off here is the low weight. It is also a short but wide lens which helps with storage in a bag. I use a rather small bag and have space for accessories, which is critical when I travel. It also comes with a lens hood; nice touch! I highly recommend this lens!!

Comments about Nikon 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Lens:

I have a Nikon D40X and went through several full range zoom lenses to avoid switching for general applications. Finally I found a lens I am happy with.

Even though the D40X does have a limited selection, I recommend this lens for other models because it's compact, lightweight, has a quick and silent focus. The manual focus is great as well, in case you add a 10x close-up or such.

The downside is of compact and lightweight is of course the aperture, and so for any action shots at night bring your heavy artillery, but on a hiking trip where weight and space are limited, use this one.

The 18 to 135 zoom range give me a lot of options with good performance. I have another lens that is a 28-300, however it does not capture light as well and was much heavier. I like the multiuse of this new lens much better.

Comments about Nikon 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Lens:

I just love the lens, and not having to change a lens during a shoot. I use the lens indoors and outdoors at parties weddings and just for fun. I love being able to take close ups of the children I shoot without them realizing I am doing it. I am getting some great candid shots. I was having to have my camera cleaned because of dust getting in to the camera while changing the lens from wide angle to telephoto, money saving can be added to the list. This lens is giving me many options and opportinities I did not have before.I love it.

Comments about Nikon 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6G ED-IF AF-S DX Zoom Nikkor Lens:

This is a very good, very sharp general purpose lens. Compared to my Nikon 18-200 VR while it lacks VR, it is lighter, less expensive, and does not vignette with the built-in flash on my D40X as the 18-200 VR does at 18-24mm even w/o the shade. Even though I have the 18-200 VR, for the reasons given above, I use this for family shooting and whenever I don't need the VR or 200mm.

I recommend it rather than the 18-55 or 18-55 VR kit lens when getting a Nikon body or as an upgrade from them. It's also a good alternative to the much higher priced 18-200 VR if cost is an issue.

VERY SHARP LENS. COMPARED TO 18-200 AND 50 1.8 THIS LENS IS MUCH SHARPER. LACK OF VR SOMETIMES CAUSES BLURRED PICTURES. FOR THE PRICE THIS LENS CAN'T BE BEAT.
