Comments about Nikon 85mm F1.8D AF Lens:

I use this lens while at fashion shows. There isn't alot of sapce to move around at theses events, so I'm forced to find a sweet spot to photograph the models. This lens is a prime lense and allows me to consistantly capture clear crisp images in low light without worrying about flooding the models with flash. I love this lens!

Comments about Nikon 85mm F1.8D AF Lens:

Can one actually be in love with a lens? I had actually looked at an 85mm 1.8d used lens that was about 2 years old. The seller wanted $65 less than what a brand new lens from Abe's would cost. Good thing I tried it out first. I was not impressed. The focus was not great, just so-so.

But there have been too many fantastic reviews about this lens. I could not imagine what all the hoopla was about. But I needed a good portrait lens and did not want to break the bank, so I got one. Best price around. Figured if it was not that good I could always return it.

Ooooo.... I'm glad I did. So this is the lens that has everyone talking, which now includes me. The bokeh is incredible. I remember one reviewer saying, "It's the closest thing to 3D." I agree.
It makes the eyes come alive. And be sure the lens will show every detail, whether good or bad. Now me happy camper. BTW, I am in love.

Comments about Nikon 85mm F1.8D AF Lens:

Very nice lens, but a little bit old, focusing ring rotates when auto-focusing.
Always makes you wondering: would the 85/1.4 be better?
