Once I attach the lens to the D60, its been the weapon of choice. The low light performance and focus sharpness is excellent. Not to heavy for an all day adventure.
On the down side the len is not compatible with my D700, even if the body can crop from FX to DX mode.

Big improvement over Nikon 18-55mm VR kit lens. A bit on the heavy side but can't expect a light weight f/2.8 zoom. Output is a bit soft wide open though but right around f/4 images start to get very sharp. Abes had a great price on the lens and with bing.com's cashback you got a great lens for a very reasonable price.

Found that 'Spot' focusing gives me great results-sharp pic's in 11x16 prints.Consistent!!! As reported in Pro Reviews this lens is " a very good lens" reserving 'excellent' for the iconic lens.
