Brand: SIGMA
Located in: Photography, Camera Lenses
Sigma's 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO DG Macro Lens is one of several tele zoom lenses. By incorporating the autofocusing motor into the lens itself, it can now autofocus with all Nikon DSLR cameras (including the D40, D40x, etc.). In addition, with the motor built into the lens, focusing will be quieter and more responsive.

Comments about SIGMA 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO-M DG HSM FOR NIKON:

Once I bought my Nikon D5000 (with the 18-55mm) lens, I really wanted a zoom. I researched Sigma, Tamron as well as Nikon and because of the reviews on Abe's was convinced that the Sigma 70-300mm was the lens I wanted. Also, couldn't beat Abe's price (not even on [...])!! Very satisfied customer...will return again to Abe's

Comments about SIGMA 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO-M DG HSM FOR NIKON:

I read many reviews and looked at numerous examples on pbase and then bought this lens. I use it with a Nikon D60. I have had it 3 weeks and have shot 7 outdoor soccer matches in both bright sunshine and low light overcast. The AF has been responsive, the focal point is spot on and pictures have been sharp. Better than my Nikkor 55-200. The extra reach is great and even at 300mm, I have had great results. I have also shot landscapes, waterfalls and used the macro on insects with equally great results. For the money, you can't go wrong.

Comments about SIGMA 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO-M DG HSM FOR NIKON:

This is an excellent lens. I use it on my Nikon D60 and the autofocus works well though it is a bit loud when autofocusing. Macro mode is very nice. Lens barrel interferes with camera's built in flash by casting shadows on close subjects. Works exactly as expected and I'm glad i bought it.

It's a nice lens for the price. Seems to be well built, not too bulky. Smooth zooming, well balanced, a quality product. I give it 4 stars because I haven't really used it a lot yet, but I am very pleased with it.

Comments about SIGMA 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO-M DG HSM FOR NIKON:

Honestly, I've not used this lens a lot. But from the few shots that I've taken, this lens appears to be "money well spent". It is sharp and zooms in perfectly. The bokeh is nice too. You will need a tripod or a very very stead hand to get no blurs.

And Yes, you should buy this lens. Won't regret it.

Comments about SIGMA 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO-M DG HSM FOR NIKON:

I purchased this lense mainly for wildlife shooting. It is quick to focus and well made lense. Yes, it is a little heavy and focus is more noisy than a Nikon VR lense of comparible zoom, but for cost you can not beat it. I have other Sigma lenses and like them as well. I would use a tripod to shoot with this lense as it does not have any type of vibration stabalization. Overall good quality and well built.
