My main use for this lens is surfing photos on Oahu's North Shore but once you get used to it.....it is very good at multi-tasking.....there are better lenses if you can pay the money but it stands tall in the overall capability and quality of what you get for the price.....Bravo Sigma for helping us blue collar guys become respectable.....Christopher Skapik 2010

These are initial impression of the lens used to take pictures of soccer games. The ability to go for 50-500 allows to follow the action in the whole field, which was my reason to purchase the lens. The lens is easy to use, require at least a monopod for long shooting. The image quality seems a little inferior to the 150-500 form same manufacturer

I find this lens to be a great lens, very versatile between the 50 all the way to the 500. My only drawback is that we do alot of on-scene photography so not always handy for a tripod and the weight for me is a bit much sometimes to get a clear shot. Most shots are great until I begin to get tired. LOL.
