Right now I use it for taking pictures at my little girls running around the yard. Sports is another thing I use if for. It is better than I ever imagine. The thing that is not good about it, is that is it alittle heavy and you will need a tripod to use it while shoting sports.

I have been in photography for over 30 years and have used a set of well experienced lenses (wide angle to zoom) for my old manual 35mm Pentax SLR. I debated this one against the APO version. Like any long zoom a little softness at Max zoom is to be expected and I found it much less than I expected. I also have seen no CA problems. The attached example was taken with a monopod for camera support. So far I have been very satisfied.

Works very well on my D5000. Sharp clear and consistent. On slow side for auto-focus and its wieght for Macro makes tripods a good idea for steadying. Surprisingly high quality for an inexpensive lens.

I was hesitant to purchase this lens based on the previous reviews... however... this was a GREAT purchase. I use the lens on my Nikon D60. My daughter and I went to an Outer Banks island to see the wild horses and this was the only lens I took. It was light enough to carry around for 6 hours without getting heavy or hard to carry, it took FANTASTIC shots of the horses. It looks like we were standing right next to the horses. It is such an easy lens to use, my 9 year old daughter took some really nice shots. For the price, you won't find a better lens to take great pictures with!

Great lens for the money. I would highly recommend this lens. Great for sports and wildlife photos. I have no regrets. Sigma lens have always work great for me(sharp and rich pictures)!!. I got a friend to buy one and he loves it!! I use a Nikon DX40 camera.

I use this mostly for outdoor photography when I need that extra reach. It's not fast enough for anything indoor so if you plan on doing concerts or anything low light this is the wrong lens. But with enough lighting it does the job. The focus could be a faster but it's good enough for me.

I prefer using the lens set to the Manual focus mode rather than the Auto, because I get to decide what to focus on, which maybe, at times, is different from what the camera/lens does.

I am using a Nikon D60 and this lens pairs well. I am a beginner, but auto focus is great. Have used it at soccer games with much success. Great for capturing shots at a distance so your kids don't realize you are taking the picture. Very happy with purchase.
