Brand: TAMRON
Located in: Photography, Camera Lenses
With the advent of the latest 15X zoom lens from Tamron, the pioneer of high power zoom lenses, the high power zoom lens has steadily evolved from a 7.1X to a 10.7X to a 13.9X and now to the world’s largest zoom ratio of 15X by combining advanced high power zoom design technologies accumulated by Tamron since 1992. The lens covers an angle of view equivalent to that of a 28mm wideangle to a 419mm ultra telephoto with just one lens, letting the user capture once-in-the-lifetime images of panoramic landscape images or close-up pictures of children smiling, without having to get too close to the subject and without having to change lenses.

The Tamron 18-270 can not be beat. I normaly have to carry around at least 3 to four lens's plus other gear. now all I need is the Tamron, a 1/4" extender, and a few other goodies and I'm ready to go without my normal backpack. realy its a great lens from wide to telephoto no problem. best lens I have ever bought.

Comments about TAMRON AFB003C-700 18-270MM F/3.5-63 DI-II VC LD (IF) MACRO FOR CANON:

I bought this lens after reading a lot of online reviews. This lens is extremely versatile and takes a wide range of amazing photographs. The image quality is fantastic and the price at Abes was the best anywhere. Be sure to look for discount coupons online. If you have read any other reviews, you will know that this lens creep right out of position if you have it anywhere above 125mm and you have the lens pointed downward. Likewise, adjusting the focal length from 25mm up to 125mm is quite stiff. I suspect this is all due to the telescopic extender inside.Nonetheless this is a great lens [...]

Comments about TAMRON AFB003C-700 18-270MM F/3.5-63 DI-II VC LD (IF) MACRO FOR CANON:

This is a great lens to use on your camera all of the time. You can zoom in pretty good for things that are far away and you can take great close-ups for macro photography. I used it when i went to the Georgia Aquarium and was able to take great pics in low light. The lens lock is great for when you place your camera in your bag so the lens doesn't creep while you're carrying it around.

Not a keeper
By JackVerified Purchaser from Olympia, WA on 3/23/2009
Pros:
Consistent Output, Sharp Focus
Cons:
Lens Creep, Manual focus sticky, Zoom really stiff
Best Uses:
Landscape Photography

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about TAMRON AFB003C-700 18-270MM F/3.5-63 DI-II VC LD (IF) MACRO FOR CANON:

I had read about the lens creep and stiffness of the zoom but the manual focus was the show stopper. The jerkiness made it virtually useless.

great multipurpose lens. purchased so i wouldn't have to change from wide angle to zoom and it serves that purpose perfectly. it's a bit large when zoom isn't necessary but that's the trade off i'm willing to accept.

Comments about TAMRON AFB003C-700 18-270MM F/3.5-63 DI-II VC LD (IF) MACRO FOR CANON:

As a Hobbyist, I primarily utilize the camera while travelling in our motor coach around this great nation--I was looking for a "single lens" solution to mate with a new Canon Rebel XSi-- dragging around a large camera bag with several lens applications was not desireable. After conducting solid research, the best choice was the Tamron 18-270 and the research proved correct--this is a fantastic lens with great build quality and an excellent zoom range. Auto-focus is quick and sharp and the optical stabilization works great. The lens comes with a hood which neatly stows on the lens when not in use; this is a nice touch. The icing on the cake is Tamrons exclusive 6 YEAR warranty--what's not to like! One slightly negative item I have noticed is lens creep--if you hold the camera with the lens pointing down, it will extend--but there is a lock button which solves that issue. Once in the habit of locking, there is no issue. The lens is on the pricey side but considering quality, zoom capability, and the awesome warranty, do yourself a favor and get this lens.
