fully extened requires a tripod, hand held is a little blurry. love the quality, love the picture it takes, love the looks of it, as a whole awesome for amature photographers. the photo's look professional! would recommend to everyone.

first off, Abe's of Maine Rocks! [...] On the Tamaron 70-300 mm zoom w/ macro, it is everything i was looking for as in an enexpensive lens. quick, light weight, good looking lens. sometime on Macro you have to switch to manual focus because auto can't make up its mind what item to focus on, but that is common with auto focus lenses. the zoom ability is great, and takes very crisp photos, as long as you are steady. use a tripot and timer settings for really close up photos, for hand held at 70 mm is good, 300 mm could show some "shakieness" blurr if not careful so take multi photos in order to choose the best. overall,... really pleased with this lens and the photo's i am getting in return are well worth the effort and dollars spent. I really don't think the Nikon lens that list for $589.00 would be any better. if your looking for beginner photography zoom? get this lens from Abe's!
