I used it at a party with little light.The light can be adjusted in differant direction.But it's heavy.

The 580 seemed like it would be more flash than I needed for general use with my Canon G-9 and 10D. The 430EX II has delivered consistent performance.

Easy to use - I've just put it on auto setting. Nice flash for indoor portraits - it lights up the whole room. No more dark spots. I have a Canon 50D and really needed more flash for indoor action.

This flash is sturdy built and light weight. The only thing that i don't like is the zoom setting button, they should make it like 580EX II adjustment wheel.

Great upgrade from the built-in flash. Provides light much further away than the built-in for great pictures several rows back at the kids concerts. It does a fantastic job on automatic and also has an extraordinary amount of manual flexibility.

Overall, a good Flash Unit, and I'm quite happy with the results I get with it.

Though it does add weight to the camera, it is a must for night portraits! I used it at my son's outdoor graduation and would never have had the shots I got with only the pop-up flash.

The range on this flash is great..It can turn,swivel, and be very adaptable. It has some weight and bulk to it...but it is better than the 530 Ex II which is much heavier and bigger. I use all 2.8 lens so this flash combined with my fast lenses make it a great team..It is a smart flash.This flash does the job and then some..I liked it so much, I bought one for my daughter for her Canon.

This flash works excellent. I vacillated between this one and the bigger 580 but in the end I'm glad I settled here. The size isn't exactly small but if feels well designed and has excellent range and coverage. Since I'm not not a pro and only use it for family photos anyway the other flash would have probably been overkill. My initial portrait shots have looked great. I've only used it once so I'm looking forward to getting a bit more creative with it in the future.

I bought this to use with my Canon SX10 with its junky pop-up flash and I added a Sto-fen Diffuser. This is the upgraded EX430 version. It's light, charges quickly and give a brilliant light. I tink this is the best flash I've had.

I purchased this on the suggestion of my brother who uses a similar one with his Nikon D80. I used it and in one day created more photos that I found were "keepers" than I could do in several days of shooting. I cannot say enough about it and how easy it is to use and achieve the desired results.

Using with a Canon EOS/XSi and numerous lenses ranging from 11mm to 200mm. Its fill power reaches quite a distance.

Once I understood more about taking pictures, I realized how important a good flash is. With this flash especially if you bounce it, the lighting in the picture is incredible. People's faces' aren't washed out, and the whole picture just pops. If you have a canon without this flash you have half a camera.

I bring this flash unit during my last trip to Florida. I use 430ex ii mainly for general use let it be during day or night. Sometimes I use it for portrait photography.

One thing for sure is that this unit is useful for beginners like me. Enabling me to start learn about lighting without blowing my wallet. The light meter is pretty accurate and for some reason I can use it for many shoots without drying my battery pack

On the flip side, I found the interface is rather difficult to navigate initially. But that's apply to most Canon devices.

This speedlite is the usual top drawer quality prodcut from Canon. Relativley easy to use after reading the instructions. Does the job for which it was designed.

Purchsed this flash when I bought the EOS Rebel xti. Love the adjustable flash intensity, works great when taking pics over a medium distance. Lights up the entire field.
