So far the D-60 is an excellent camera. I would like to have an ISO Auto for psam, but it would not deter me from recommending this camera to anyone. Easy to use right out of the box. Excellent picture quality. Friendly controls.

Initially I had hesitation,but once you started to take a picture, there is no stopping. This camera is definitively fun. The image quality is incredible, the difference between a point and shoot is in the quality of the image when you start to zoom in.This is great for anyone wishing to retouch their pictures. I am still learning.The only wish I have is to have more money to buy a better lens system.The 18-55mm lens is too restricted.

i wish it had more focus points.
sometimes the focus just craps out on me, maybe i need to get better at it??
i like the size (i really wanted a lighter smaller camera) of it and the price.

This is a very great product..I was thinking of buying Nikon D90 but again I bought D60 which i think is a valuable product for me..It's very easy to use and picture quality is unbelievable..i would recommend this camera to everyone...why pay double money when you can get similar camera in cheaper price...:)

This is my first DSLR. It takes amazing photographs. Easy to use. I could clearly differentiate between normal point and shoot and the DSLR. Yet to explore lots of feature of this camera. However, the Nikon Transfer software that the camera comes with is not that great. I used canon camera earlier. Canon has very good photo download software. It organize photos in great manner on download e.g. photos taken on different dates are copied in separate folders. I did not found this feature in Nikon Transfer software. It copies all photographs in one folder (irrespective of date) and sequence of the photos also gets affected due to this. It will be great if Nikon enhances it's photo download software. I will prefer Canon over Nikon for this aspect.

I bought the D60 for my wife for a gift. I really like the camera, but the 18-55 lens leaves a LOT to be desired. It doesn't take good pictures, if at all in low light. I bought the 18-105 lens and it is like a totally different camera, but I think that the key is getting more light to the camera. Buy any of the larger diameter Nikon lenses to go with it and you will be more than happy with this camera.

For someone that just got off the point and shoot camera this is one good purchase. It's simple to use and yet it offers some pro DSLR settings too. It's a great way to get yourself into DSLR photography. If you're not under budget like I was please get the camera body only and purchase a "AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6G IF-ED" lens. This lens will cover everything, from wide angle to zoom.[...] I would definitely recommend to my friends...which I did and they're happy about it as well. Thank you Abes of Maine!!! =)

Great camera but check the box for all to make sure you get everthing. A free 4g card was includer but never receiver. other then that great to deal with.

As a casual user, I don't put this through much rigor - but it is built well, more light than Canons, and puts out a great image. The only complaint I have is that it does not have an autofocus mechanism in the body - for AF to work, the motor must be in the lens.

I waited and waited, but finally I got this for a steal here on Abe's. I think you just have to keep checking the weekly deals and purchase at the right time. What else can I say about the Nikon quality, this camera takes some great pictures.

I have been using the "auto" setting mostly, but I have been slowly feeling my way across some of the more advanced controls. I turn the ISO way up here or there or use a long delay shutter to get some nice colors during a sunset.

Use a tripod for any night shots, but during the day you can move all over the place and get some nice shots. I have also been trying to fine tune my camera handling skills, well this camera takes up a lot of my slack especially with the "VR" lenses.

Bottom line, this is an awesome camera, and I think the quality of the pictures completely offsets the large camera/lens size compared to some of todays smaller point and shoot camera's. If your considering buying one, GET ONE!

This is a great deal! This camera offers the best of both worlds. It is extremely easy to use on the auto setting but also offers manual settings that give the user opportunities to experiment with light and shutter speed. Also, I am amazed with the VR setting especially in low light! Versatility and optional accessories such as lenses for this camera was also an exciting selling point for me. The menu's are very easy to access and when taking pictures, changing settings is vary fast. It's a great camera!

I'm not a professional by any means, but have used SLR 35mm cameras for decades. This seems to be an easy to use camera that takes great pictures, and offers a lot of control. I chose the Nikon a lot for the name, back in the old days they had a little better optics than most, I am very happy with my choice.

I got this camera as part of a package which included a very convenient case that fits it perfectly and sits just under my arm. I can drive and even eat with it slung across my shoulder. It's a great kit for traveling--compact, fast and powerful.

This is my first DSLR camera, and I loves it.

I have to say the Kit lens is very good for beginner like me, I ended up buying a 50mm 1.8f len, the only draw back on this camera is it does not support lens that are AF, only AF-S. but it's ok. it all worth it.

I don't have much else to say. you have to use it to see the quality of this camera is.

This camera is great for the casual photographer who wants great quality photos for all occasions. For general use and enjoyment of top quality photography this thing rocks. If you are a professional that takes alot of high speed action frames, this is not for you. This camera is very fast in sunlight and is capable of capturing very sharp images at high speed. In lower light it is a little slower to respond but will capture very good images in low light. Overall this camera is a great value casual photographer that can provide professional grade images at great price.

The menu is easy to use, all in one place. Quality was weak on the eyepiece. Within 6 months, the rubber was falling apart, and needs replacing. Limited number of lenses to use, hopefully nikon will expand as the series gets bigger.
